I'm following the "Ultimate Guide" and i finished the step about moving the files of Luma3DS, FBI and the such to the SD card. But when i plug the SD card back and turn the 2DS on, it only appears a black screen. It's been like this for 30 minutes so it isn't just 2.1.0 being slow as expected. It isnt hard bricked cuz i can use Recovery Mode. Any suggestion of where i did fuck it up?

i appreciate the quick response, but i've been told this three times now and arm9loaderhax.bin has been in the root of the sd card the entire time - i copied everything, and pasted everything back in after the format, nothing changed locations/names/etc.. i've also redownloaded the luma files and replaced everything from the sd card with the newly redownloaded files.
Try another sd card just to make sure that's not the issue.

Did you try one at fat32 with just arm9loaderhax.bin from the latest luma and nothing else.

Edit: also some people were having problems with apple os throwing random files on the sd card. Do you have another way to format it?

You can leave that as is, save it, and now it will boot into the homemenu

Download a torrent client like tixati. It's a magnet link.

oh man, okay thank you SO much my dude. you a lifesaver for real, i'm at the home menu as i'm typing this!!!! but this brings me to another question now - is there anything from here that i can do to try and restore all of the files i had on my sd card? you can tell from the screenshot i had a lot of things on there, but i'm mostly worried right now about a9lh/luma still functioning and being able to boot ntr/stream footage to the computer.

transfer over the folders and files that you absolutely need on it, and if necessary you can start with just a few and build up to see what's causing the issue.

What is the recommended/best way to remove EmuNAND? Here is my situation:

I have an N3DS with A9LH and Luma on it. I used to have an EmuNAND on it, but removed it because some people are saying that it is not needed/recommended with a A9LH/Luma setup. I later read in some threads that having EmuNAND IS recommended, so I tried creating one. I ran into some problems with the process and eventually had to restore my SysNAND. When I tried to boot Gateway Mode (I have and use Gateway) by pressing down on system boot, it booted into an emunand? I dunno where it came from, but I want to remove it as I have all of my stuff on SysNAND. Will I still have access to the following after removal of EmuNAND?:

- A9LH
- Luma
- Gateway use
- SC DSTwo use

Help GREATLY needed and appreciated :)

My upper screen remains black once I turn on my 3DS... I just hardmod'ed.
I'm looking at my ribbons but everything looks fine... which one in particular should I check?

Thanks.

Which model do you have? Look at the dual ribbon cables attached near the upper right on the o3ds.

Thanks for answering. I have a New 3DS, should I look for the ribbon cables in the upper right anyway?

EDIT: Solved! Thanks, it was one of the cables in the upper right corner, somehow I put it the wrong way. It's working now. :)

So I got DS4 windows to work with kitkat. However, I cannot work the controls out for the PS4? Is there anyway to work this around?

okay, so i've been trying to do this. however, no matter what files i add to the sd card, i'm still not seeing any of the things that were installed - no games show up in my home menu, ntr/fbi/etc are all missing. i have tried to overwrite format my sd cards (i have two 64gb, one 16gb and one 8gb, the 16gb and 8gb seem to work fine when i start with just the arm9loaderhax.bin on them but neither of the 64gb cards wants to play nicely, and there is not enough room on either of the smaller cards (my Nintendo 3DS file is ~50gb). yes they are formatted to exfat)

any suggestions?

edit i'm sure it would've been brought up by now if it were, but is a system restore a thing on 3ds? i have emunand/sysnand and backups from about a month ago, is there a way to just revert it to how it was then, sort of like a time machine restore??

1. Google "that iso site" look in there for freeshop download the .cia.
2. Put the CIA in your SD card in a folder named "CIAs".
3. Run FBI go to CIAs folder and install Freeshop
4. Open freeshop and go to the settings icon (a gear)
5. Google "that titlekey site" and get the QR code
6. Scan it.
7. Profit(?)
