I also had this problem, after repacking I only had 29 files instead of 39 (pic below).

But after I used the correct encryption key, it installed normally.

I think it's normal to get fewer files after repack.

hi, I am also trying to install TMS this way. what do you mean by "But after I used the correct encryption key, it installed normally.". I have not used the NUS packer yet and want to get a better understanding of how to use. appreciate it!

ps - here is my situation:
I have TMS already installed but it is the non-restored version. what is the easiest way for me to get it restored?

You could pull the files via wupserver or ftpiiu or you can decrypt the downloaded files on your computer and patch and repack them with nuspacker. Nuspacker needs the wiiu common key to repack them in a way wupinstaller will work for.

I dumped my game twice (once through ddd and once as a .wud). I patched the ddd dump successfully, then converted the .wud to an "install" folder and installed it with wupinstaller. It all works fine but since I don't want to use Loading, I now have to copy the patched files to the Wii U from my SD card using wupserver and wupclientMod.

The reason I mention all of this is because I'd love to know (as has already been asked, from what I've seen) if there is a faster method. My SD card isn't super-fast, to be fair (I think it's only a class 6, unfortunately - I bought it a while ago and will have to get a better one sometime soon), but it has been running for about 6 hours now, maybe longer, and it has only transferred approximately 100MB out of the ~10GB it has to transfer. It hasn't even finished the first file yet.

One thing to note is that I did select all the files to copy from the SD card, then pasted them onto the Wii U all at once. Could that be slowing it down? I doubt it though, because it's still transferring files one at a time, at least as far as I can tell. If it's transferring them all at the same time, then that would be the explanation.

I'm going to stop it and try again anyway, just to see if it makes a difference, but if anyone has a faster alternative (which I fear doesn't currently exist), please let me know.

EDIT: Ignore my problems, I figured it out. As I guessed, it was actually trying to copy multiple files at once rather than queueing them and transferring them one at a time. So if your transfers are going as ridiculously slow as mine were, make sure you're only transferring one file at a time. You can do more, but it's not worth it, unless you want to leave your Wii U and PC on for the next week.

The easiest way would be to run a homebrew called Mocha CFW, then run a homebrew called FTPiiU Everywhere (both can be found in the Homebrew App Store).
Once you've done that, you just have to access the FTP through your PC and copy the patched files overwriting the original files on the Wii U.

Alternatively, if you use a wupserver enabled CFW on your Wii U, you can copy the patched files to the SD card of your Wii U and use the WupClient on your PC to move the files from the SD card to the game folder.

If both methods fail, you could download the game on PC, decrypt it using Cdecrypt, apply the patch, repack it using Nuspacker and reinstall it using WupInstaller (you need to run the Mocha CFW previously).

eshop DLC does not seem to work with this installed w brazilian method :/

DLC works, but you need to run the Mocha CFW before running the game.

yeah that's how i've been running the game in the first place it doesn't work fam

Strange, it worked normally for me.

I don't know if it made any difference, but I first installed the DLCs and the update, and then installed the patched version of the game.

When I opened the game, it detected the DLCs without any problem.

Note: The DLCs can only be used after the first dungeon, but a notification should appear when entering the game the first time.

i packed it and installed it instead of transferring patch files through ftp because of how slow it was
maybe that broke dlc lol

What's the FTPiiU speeds like vs. wupclient (which actually is that slow, so never mind, back to my previous problem)?

Also, do you have to use Mocha to get FTPiiU to allow you to touch system files?

EDIT: I need to try things before I ask. So tired from trying to get TMS patched properly AND installed on my system. The answer is that you can also use CBHC to get full access via FTP.
Also, FTP transfer is much faster for me than wupclient/wupserver. Probably due to my router being faster than my SD card.

Yes, and it must be the "FTPiiU Everywhere", not the normal "FTPiiU".
I think I'm just using the regular FTPiiU but I could be wrong. It says FTPiiU but I honestly don't remember which one I downloaded because I was half-asleep at the time. But regardless, it's working, so that's all that matters.

And just to reiterate, I got it working with Coldboot Haxchi, so yay, I don't have to bother with Mocha.

EDIT: Finally finished copying all the files but now TMS won't boot. Ugh. My only thought is that FileZilla on Mac is unreliable because I know I was having issues with JKSM on the 3DS (it wasn't copying the files from the 3DS 1:1 and so they weren't working). FileZilla is meant to be the best, and it's the only FTP client I've ever used, as far as I can recall, but... does anyone have a good alternative, or perhaps a way to stop FileZilla causing these errors...?

EDIT 2: CyberDuck seems to fix my problems with FileZilla. For now. Didn't copy the sound file for TMS (wasn't listed in the guide for installing to the internal memory, so if you're following that guide, be aware you also need to transfer pack_040_sound.cpk) and at least one other had the wrong hash (I'm still waiting for it to return hashes on the bigger files because, you know, it takes a while), so I should have my problem fixed in no time. Hopefully this info helps someone else with the same or similar problems.

EDIT 3: But after all the files have been checked and are correct, the game still won't boot... It shows the splash screen then goes to a black screen and that's it.

I think after hours/days wasted because of a slightly damaged sd card that led to wupinstaller refusing to install unsigned content from NUSPacker I found something interesting.
As there was no approach to boot this patched game after installing it to usb without sigpatching and it therefore wasn't as Brazilian as I liked I decided to get it working again.

(0. Only for this patch, if you just replace files for an undub be sure moving the files on your PC worked flawlessly: Verify that your game is correctly patched.)

1. Pack it with NUSPacker and install it with wupinstaller after starting a CFW.

2. After you dumped your console tickets with tik2sd the keys.txt says were the bucket-file (later called tik-bucket) for titles including the titleid of the game (in my case TMS) is stored.

3. Then you start the encrypted download for this game with JNUSTool and cancel it right After it started to just get the .tmd file, you can also just download the tmd from ccs.cdn.wup.shop.nintendo.net/ccs/download/[titleid]/tmd directly.

Then download, edit and replace some files via the hex-editor of your choice and wupclient, but you can also use ftpiiu, just be sure you have
4. Run a cfw prior to this, or you won't be able to access these directories.

5. Now search for the directory-name/file-name of the tik-bucket in the keys.txt file, there are two cases how to proceed:

6.a If the tik-bucket mentioned in the keys.txt only contains one titleid:
{Replace the /vol/system_slc/rights/ticket/apps/[idx]/tik-bucket file with the one from the disc ticket also obtained via tik2sd and rename it to the exact same name as tik-bucket of course.}

6.b If the tik-bucket mentioned in the keys.txt contains more than one titleid:
{Download the tik-bucket to your PC via ftpiiu or wupclient.
Open that file in the hex-editor of your choice, HxD on Windows or Bless on Linux are recommended.
Also open the disc-ticket in the same hex-editor and copy the whole content of it (length of 0x350)
Then select a length of 0x350 in the tik-bucket starting at the offset mentioned in the keys.txt and paste the content of the disc-ticket there.
Compare the original size of the original tik-bucket of the new tik-bucket to be sure that the file size didn't change.
If it matches, replace the /vol/system_slc/rights/ticket/apps/[idx]/tik-bucket file with the newly created one.}

7. Then replace the title.tmd file stored under /vol/storage_usb/usr/title/00050000/[titleid]/code/title.tmd with the downloaded one and that was it.

No need for any sigpatching and you can still boot your game via brazilian method (as long as only the content folder was changed which is the case here).
And the most important thing: No slow uploads of large files via wupclient(~500KB/s with sd->usb)/ftpiiu(~140KB/s), just two small files.
There is currently no faster way than from sd to usb and this only via wupinstaller, so please don't waste ~20 hours with ftpiiu or ~8 hours with wupclient (with wiiu_sd ->wiiu_usb).

Maybe one can also replace the files directly in the install directory but the differing encryption key could be a problem, didn't try it though.

this has probably been asked a few times, but how would I go about patching this for WUP installer?
Have a copy of the game on your computer, decrypt the files with jnustool, repack them with nuspacker, and install with wupinstaller. That's what I did. Cause ftpiiu kept crashing.

Edit: oh yeah and patch the files before you repack. My bad

Thanks a ton for creating this patch. I've got the game working using loadiine and it's been great so far. I'm not trying to get the dlc to work and I'm finding myself a bit confused. I already have the game dumped and patched. If I buy the dlc on the eshop can I have that work with the version I have now? Or do I need to buy the dlc and then redump the game? Thanks for your time.

You can just dump the DLC by using /vol/aoc as the directory you'd like to dump, and then place that file into the dump on your SD card.
You need to start the game in Smash mode using Loaddine as well (this requires Smash Bros for Wii U to be in your disc drive)

Thanks for your reply. I'll definitely give that a shot. You're talking about doing that with ddd? And where do I put the option of using /vol/aoc?
