Nope, to use NTR, you use the 9.6/10.2 firmware.bin file, which have svcbackdoor, etc...

Oh, okay! So the patches that they're adding to Luma3DS to restore svcBackdoor are meant to fix it for vanilla Luma3DS with no firmware.bin?

edit:

wrong and right. the latest commits do fix it. but you dont have to compile it yourself http://astronautlevel2.github.io/Luma3DS/

Yeah, I found that like five minutes after I posted on a reddit thread. Thank you!!

It's useful for emulators or other homebrews that use svcbackdoor. To use NTR, you have to put the NTR firmware.bin file on the luma folder, because NTR is only compatible (for now?) with 9.6 firm on o3DS, and 10.2 firm on n3ds.

Ah, okay. Like how RetroArch works (I think.) I understand now. I use NTR but I'm still learning about how it works / how it's different from regular CFW (besides the fact that it's 9.6/10.2). But I will keep reading up on it.

Thank you so much!

oh..I do not have 9.x sysnand or emunand. so, I can not tell you exactly what going wrong. but have you put firmware.bin in the luma folder?

Sent from my 403SC using Tapatalk

I finally figured it out. I made such a rookie mistake. I had to disable menuhax because when I launched Luma3DS from the homebrew, it rebooted right back to homebrew because I did not disable menuhax. lol.

I'm using NTR on 11.0 Emunand though?
Or are we talking sysnand here with the AL9H stuff. (Never used it)

Well .... I'll take your word for that.... (I'm a 3DS and Wii U newblett)
I just did the setup for 9.2 with 10.7 Emunand hahaha.
So basically as long as I use that firmware.bin for NTR it'll keep working with Luma3ds?
If Nintendo updates the home menu or errdisp it will not work so I doubt it'll work in 11.1

Ah! Thank you. so basically I'll be careful with the next updates, I don't want to lose NTR streaming video.

But I guess if I did mess it up I could always just redo the Emunand back to whatever ver.

I'm confused because I have AL9H using updated sysnand mode and everywhere I read it says it's ok for users with AL9H Luma to update to 11.0 sysnand but in this thread there's mention that retroarch will stop working on 11.0? I have installed the .cia versions of various emulators and I would like them to continue working after update. So should I stay on 10.7?

If you use 10.2 NFIRM (you're using this if you followed plailects guide) you'll be fine

Just so...RetroArch uses that for the emulators that use dynamic recompilation (that's to say, the Playstation emulator and GPSP). OH, and I think PicoDrive uses it for 32x games?

Is there a list somewhere with file hashes (CRC32, SHA1) of firmware.bin files so you can see what version you're using?
E.g. I'm using one with SHA1 hash: E813B29CA0C660EB22F72CBA8D9D2EC773E25E54

Download the one from part 5 of plailects guide and hash it. If they're different use the one from plias guide.

I've not been following the 3DS scene for a long time now, so sorry I'm im gonna ask really stupid questions.

ATM I have 10.4 emuNAND set up with the EmuNAND9 and have RxTools3 (random nightly) installed. Since i find RxTools kinda unnecessary complicated and it's out-of-date, could anyone explain to me how to prepare everything to perform the setup of this CFW on a 9.2 o3DS?

Edit: I do not have A9LH installed, only MenuHax, but i AM willing to switch
