4 is my favorite Resident Evil by far, and frankly I think the Wii version was the most immersive, one of the few 3rd party games that really took good advantage of the Wii's motion control.
I was hoping for that too. I loved Resident Evil 4 and had a lot of fun with 5 as well. From what I played, Resident Evil 6 isn't really worth picking up on its own. A cheap package with all three games would be tempting though.
We gave Resident Evil 5 a spin the other day for the first time in years. Local co-op of course and it ended up being a bit of groundhog day stealing effect* but I had a good time again after playing it to death years ago. We started 6 not so long before and it was a chore, might have to power through it though just to say did.

Anyway had you asked me what I expected of the PS4bone a few years back I would not have said remake/rerelease heaven. That said as most of it seems to be coming with all the DLC and fixed bugs then I am doing OK with it.

I want only to play RE4, I hope they ported the PC Remaster edition becase that is now the best version to play.
Capcom does the George Lucas way of starting with the worst re-release and slowly working towards the good ones.
You should rather thank Nintendo for basically creating the second Dreamcast.

So since RE4 is in new conversation, I am curious if I should get the GC or Wii version. Or both?
Nope. Wii version on Dolphin is better, even without the HD texture pack. The texture pack just makes it even better, by far.
The Dreamcast had a successful launch - it died off when the PS2 entered the scene. The Wii U was dead on arrival. :^)
Yeah, the Dreamcast was a good machine that was eclipsed by the extremely popular PS2 for many reasons DVD playing capability included.
The Wii U in the other hand has not been eclipsed, the other consoles are nothing out of this world. The Wii U just committed software suicide on its own, it cannot stand on its own even without serious competition.
PS: I should disconnect my Wii, it has been throwing away power in just turning that red LED on for the last couple of years.
