Would you rather have patch for Japanese version than play the localized version?

I would really need to investigate what is being censored, if general story and dialoge are being severely changed taking out religious topics just because that will annoy me.
English VA are good, I am playing it in Japanese right now and I wouldn't miss the Japanese VA.
And the breast resizing option for character creation as well as toned down costumes for Lin are really a small thing that doesn't really bothers me personally.
I'm on the fence right now whether to buy the localized version or import the Japanese version and play using loadiine. I also have the collector's edition preordered too so its really a tough call to make, maybe stay with my collector's edition and sell off the game included then import later on. Who knows.

I like playing games in japanese when available and undub games when possible.
I played XChronicle in japanese because I didn't like UK accent, but I got used to it with other media (playing The last story, or TV series, for example) and now I like it.

If it's not possible, it won't prevent me from playing it. English is fine too ... as long as it's not French  (yeah, French dubbing is often horrible)

I don't know what the DLC pack contains (voices, or models, or text, etc.)
we can't extract dlc (afaik)

I like Shadow of Mordor because uruks speak cool UK accent :P. And I loved DBZ French dub :)
The thing is; we can't really decide about game voices until we try the game itself.

I kind of like the UK accent in Xenoblade, honestly.
I dont get it? A parent should go visit a doctor if they are pissed about the size of their 13 yr old kids breast size? Thats a bit much to ask for a reduction at such a young age, similar to how transgenders dont have the choice to switch until they are 18 but I don't want to derail the topic into that direction.

Also what do you mean by dual audio? Are you trying to say stereo or surround sound?
In case you hadn't figured it out from the rest of the thread, dual audio = the choice between English and Japanese voice acting.
Personally, I couldn't care less about the changed outfit. I do think the lack of a bust slider is a little silly - it's just another point of character customization, I'm pretty sure games like Skyrim allow you to do this. If someone wants to make a completely flat character, I don't see why that shouldn't be allowed. That said, I also don't think this little thing is worth the effort it would take to transplant all the english text to the japanese version.

Not that I know, I don't see any need to make a patch for this.
The localization seems a perfect game as it is.
Actually they've removed various religious and philosophical references as well. The western game IS different from the japanese one, I don't mind these changes too much but I would have already imported a japanese console + the japanese game if I know the language.

they changed religious references again ? :(
it happened with xenogears and they replaced a lot of references to be able to publish it.
it has been confirmed?

I don't care graphical changes (boob's size and bikini models), but editing the story is wrong in my opinion for author's respect. you don't edit a book's story to match publisher's ideal. I thought story censorship was a past practice.

To be fair, some measure of story changing can be considered localization. As an example, IIRC the default "hero" in a japanese work is usually a somewhat feminine guy who doesn't have an awful lot of power by himself, but relies more on his friends. The default "hero" in western works is more likely to be a strong, more lonesome character. Is it wrong, then, to change the personality of the hero to be not as weak and uncertain for a western localization? Stuff like this happened to, for example, Marth from Fire Emblem.

This poll seems to be missing an "I don't care about boob sliders or 13-year olds in bikinis" option.
You can express that in your post well enough as you did. The thing is it is more showing the current interest in getting the English script to original game, or any other restoration projects.

As it seems Sound files are quite clearly separated in the Japanese version which I... Acquired the files of. With release of the western version it is at least fairly simple to experiment with voice restoration for the game.

All in all there is also raw clash of principles here: We have been getting games changed since 90's for no real reason and why the games cannot be just left as is. You do not care about minor character tweaks but some people would like to have the feature, after all even if the feature was kept in you would not be forced to use it.

Dual Audio case seems to hold merit with the game size: The raw files are indeed 19.2 gigs in size and the voice data is over 3gigs in size so the seeming limit of 22.5 gigs of Wii U disc comes, just so slightly against it. Cannot really fault NOA for that and I kept saying the same thing about PS2 games that did not get dual audio where the data for two audio sets would not fit PS2 DVD's. Anyway, this is one thing that should be simply changed for loadiine users so one exciting thing to do for the game.
Funny enough the game has the voice data in separate "JP" subfolder so it seems from the get go there was meant to be another for EN possibly but size limitations are a bish.

You're right, Loadiine could come in use now for modding the game.

I have nothing against the character features on principle - if Nintendo could publish the game in Japan this way then they might as well do it elsewhere. And yes, there is a long history of games getting mauled by publishers when they make the transition from one region to another. I just don't personally care in this instance and consider the changes minor (the voice audio notwithstanding, but that is due to size restrictions).

I think Dual Audio is when you have both English and Japanese voice options.

Also quick look at Lin's Bikini...... She's wearing hardly anything. Nobody should be wearing strings. I'm okay with minor censorship.

Me neither, but a bunch of small changes is still a large change, If it is one of few things but there is few, and then rumors that something even deeper in the game might be changed too which are just something that I rather fix even with fan efforts. Most people currently agree.

There's almost nothing different, I mean, it's up to those willing to play a patched JP version. I mean, covering up Lin is understandable since she's 13. I heard Japan's laws on age were different so that could be why. Removing the option to change bust size is a little weird, since most WRPG's have that option (I heard XCX is supposed to have a WRPG type of gameplay) I've even heard that the English dub is actually VERY good, and not only that, I heard they're actually improving the visuals on the international release from what I've heard. Is there confirmation that there will be no JP dub with EN subs? I'm okay with that being true, but I'm all for the localized version.

Honestly though, it's pretty much just a number in her bio. It doesn't mean anything.

I agree, but a lot of people in here seem to think it makes you a pedophile. Perhaps they'd feel better if, along with the busty and swimsuit patch, they patched her age to 18.

Why would you want the Japanese dub, anyways? Isn't it supposed to involve people from New Los Angeles of the United States? I would expect the vast majority of people there to speak English. Why don't we go get a Japanese dub of Grand Theft Auto while we're at it?

The game was developed in Japan. Various language nuances amd connotations are naturally lost in translation, even aside from all the censorship.
