Oh I see, I thought people were asking how to add CN to the home screen so they don't need the cart :)

The only 3DS I think that could work on is the Japanese 3DS since CN was in the e-shop at some point.

3DS/CIA can be converted.

Question, will Ninjhax work with Regionthree?
You mean if Regionthree works on PastaCFW? Probably yes.

She meant legit, no cart required. cubic ninjo from the system of the nand with the bing and the bang.

As you're currently sweating to reply, yes indeed. That was her point, it's not possible unless you were a Japanese 3DS owner who bought it from the eShop while it was available.

I have been trying to figure this out for a day now, but I am having a problem installing certain CIAs in Pasta CFW.

I have a Gateway card but I still like messing around with this stuff and learning. And when something isn't working I like trying to figure it out. :)

Anyway I boot to Pasta CFW via Cubic Ninja. After that, I go back to Cubic Ninja again so I can load FBI. FBI will not install anything, no matter what the CIA is. I keep getting the same error that I posted yesterday. I do have the title.db in my microSD card.

Why would that be happening?

Even more strange is when I try to install things to sysNAND via Gateway (I am now trying everything). I can install almost every CIA fine, except DevMenu and FBI! Both give me errors as well!! Luckily I was able to finally get my precious DSiWare back, but I would really like DevMenu and/or FBI on my sysNAND.

Why would DevMenu (via Gateway) give me an error only on those two CIAs? And why is FBI giving me an error on every single CIA in PastaCFW? Help please! :)

Don't you have to go into software management to fix FBI, even if you have title.db on your mSD card?

Well technically, if you 'cloned' a system with it bought legit (backup host NAND, do system transfer to target system, restore host NAND) you could have it, but that's no small amount of hassle to set up.

Situation for a friend:
He has sysnand 9.2 and emunand 9.7 linked
He has legit bought games and a few legit cia's installed in sysnand 9.2, before i made emunand for him (so the games are in both nand's)
The reason why they are linked, He is alot on the road, once and awhile he needs to take a break, He has no jailbroken phone or an android phone with him, so this way he can play his legit bought games and the few legit cia's on sysnand while having a break.

Q: (I know i'm to lazy to run through all the 85+ pages again, i've seen something about not being linked best?)
Can Pasta CFW coexist with emunand when the're linked?
Do i format sysnand or emunand for him if it needs to be unlinked? (and why does it have to be unlinked?)
- (Keeping in mind he wants to play his legit bought games when he has no internet or data)

What will happen if i run Pasta CFW on his sysnand while emunand is still linked?

What i had in mind:
- Keep his sysnand like it is
- Format his emunand and reïnstall all games

The problem i have with that:
- He can't update his legit games in sysnand 9.2?
- If i install the same games again in emunand, they take 2x the place on the SD (1x for sysnand, 1x for emunand (unlinked)) and space is limited for him.
- If he wants to buy other games, he needs to do it in emunand, so they are not linked to the same nand's (if they where linked i could inject the emunand ticket.db into sysnand, this way his games bought in emunand will show up and work in sysnand)
So he can't play them in sysnand while on the road.

[EDIT]
Or stick like it is now with Gateway and hope Roxas will remove the checks in his rxTools ;)

What is it exactly that I have to do? Just go in software management and mess around?

Also, is that why I cannot install FBI.cia to sysNAND even in Gateway mode?
I think you just have to go into software management, and then exit. I don't have Cubic Ninja to even try to run Pasta, so I'm not fully sure.

Jesus. Thought you were asking for yourself. Which is why asked why you didn't just restore, because in YOUR case it would have been pointless.
no it wouldn't. All progress in Mii Plaza games requires info from BOTH the SD card AND NAND. If you downgraded, made a bunch of progress, then flashed your original backup, you would lose a bunch of your progress... But as should have been pointed out already (I'm still several pages behind...) There was never really a best way to update until now. I'm thinking that loading pastaCFW prior to launching sysupdater should do the trick. Actually, pastaCFW IS the trick. You can use Big Blue Menu and use the option to install all .cia files as well...

For those who don't know, google 3dnus and grab it, put (for example) 9.0.0-20 in the title block and put "USA" or "EUR" (or whatever your region is, but you must use the 3 letter code... simply putting "U" there will grab all USA system files AND any EUR files that are not duplicate title IDs == problems and double icons on your home menu) in the version block. Mark the spot for New 3ds if that's what you have and let it work. then create a folder called "update" in the root of your memory card, and drop all of the .cia files in there)

This is a convoluted method of installation, but you could...

1. Install Palentine CFW
2. Install Save Data Filer
3. Have someone send you their installed NINJHAX save file
4. Install the save file with SDF.
5. Update to 9.2 somehow.
6. Install Pasta.

I think you just need the title db and something else, creap talked about it once on another site.

You see
- 9.2 or lower version N3DS (9.2.0/9.1.0/9.0.0/8.1.0)
GW has cia support, sky3ds with pasta cfw can also do it
GW has multi-rom support , sky3ds switch games by button can also do it
GW has region-free support, sky3ds with NTR CFW can also do it
GW access eshop on sysNAND or emunand? sky3ds can access eshop freely with ntr cfw debugger on sysNand
GW has online game support, sky3ds has too
GW should play 3ds game by hacking steps(need extra card to load exploit) , sky3ds work directly

- 9.2 or higher version N3DS
GW has no chance to support , sky3ds support directly and also region free on latest N3DS 9.7 with regionFOUR.

I personally think sky3ds has more advantages than GW , sky3ds has no support for the eshop titles or DLC, but has support of dsiware and gba vc with pasta cfw which gw did not support

emunand is holy. But seriously installing stuff to sysnand (while mostly safe) is still dangerous. emuNAND not only gives GW more future proofing than sky3DS has ever had. Because if nintendo decides to patch sky and clones (which they can) your card won't ever work again. With GW you can nearly always update emunand to the latest version + all patching it will need to get around ninty updates are software (and thus free and not rendering the card completely useless.)

Also note how all things that make sky as good as gateway (minus emunand) are not made by the sky team...
