I bought OoT 3D for 9,99€ and Spirit Tracks for 1€ after getting Cubic Ninja a few weeks ago for 3,98€ (all brand new and sealed)

I know, this brings nothing to the thread, but I wanted to share my joy, lol

I get to step 7 and can't boot into Gateway mode with the classic System Settings DS Profile method. It doesn't seem to work. I hold the L button and click "Nintendo DS Profile" but get the popup asking me to adjust settings and it shows my profile. It won't boot into Gateway mode.

Any ideas?

EDIT: Okay, figured it out. The directions are wrong on the Gateway website. After you do the NVRAM INSTALL, you need to boot Gateway Sysnand mode by holding B and then pressing A. Then, when you're in Gateway Sysnand mode, hit select and load DevMenu.3ds, then install mset cia. THEN, you can reboot into regular Sysnand mode and then go into the DS Profile option while holding L.

The directions as stated on the Gateway website get the mset installed in Emunand, which does nothing and does not work.

Think of "Gateway Mode" as a wrapper around a system, rather than its own system. So, if you have EmuNand set up, you can run the following things:
SysNand on its own - When you start the system from a fully powered off state, this is what you are running.
EmuNand in Gateway Mode - This is what you are used to running, and what the Launcher will run by default.
SysNand in Gateway Mode - This runs the SysNand but with the ability to run installed CIAs with the signature checks disabled, as well as run 3DS games off the red card. Get to this by entering the launcher's menu (holding L when performing an exploit), then hold B when highlighting "BOOT GATEWAY MODE" (the text will change to "BOOT GATEWAY SYSNAND MODE") and press A while holding B.
EmuNand in Classic Mode - This lets you run the EmuNand, so you can run things requiring the newer system versions, but without the signature checks. So you can run retail cards and other things.
SysNand in Classic Mode - I haven't actually done this, so I don't know what the difference between this and SysNand on its own would be.

When starting out with a n3DS, your entry point into the launcher is using OoT/CN. The goal is to make an easier entry point that doesn't rely on one of these games. This is my understanding of the process so far (I don't have a n3DS, so I haven't tried this personally).
- Boot into SysNand in Gateway Mode, so anything you do is happening to SysNand. While you're in the launcher menu, you might as well install NVRAM (the altered DS profile used to enter the launcher). If you don't do it now, you'll just have to come back here again to do it later.
- Use devmenu.3ds on the Gateway card, or use bigbluemenu.3ds on the Gateway card to install a devmenu.cia file. Now you have access to DevMenu.
- Install mset.cia to alter your "System Settings" application, replacing it with a version that will enter the launcher when it sees the altered DS profile. Now you've unlocked the door from the inside, basically.
- While you're here, install bluecardfix.cia, which will allow you to use the Gateway Blue card in the future.

Now that you have this installed, you should be able to enter the launcher by going into System Settings > Profile > Nintendo DS Profile. (If you're still in Gateway Mode, this will likely crash, so it's best to reboot the system before trying this.) Now you have another entry point that you can use. If you run a DS game or DS flash cart (such as the Gateway Blue card), the NVRAM profile will likely be lost. To restore it, you will have to either enter the Launcher menu (through OoT/CN) and redo the "Install NVRAM" option, or use the Gateway Blue card and run GW_INSTALLER.NDS (thanks to installing bluecardfix.cia earlier). Both of those options write the altered profile to NVRAM, reopening that door.

I hope this makes things more clear, and if I did get anything wrong or left anything out, I'd be grateful for any corrections.

Excellent post, thank you for making everything clear.

Still waiting for a non cubic ninja and OOT entry point. I don't have any of these game carts
You need to ask yourself "what incentive does anyone have to discover this exploit"? They found one, it works and the game carts in most areas are readily available. I think the people capable of this have moved on to other more important challenges.

they are not readily available unless it is a pokemon (or maybe mh) title
Oot and CN are not readily available where you live? I said in most areas but I didn't say they were cheap. Gaming is not a cheap hobby, but the payback for obtaining either of these two titles worth the cost to many people. I paid $90 for a new Oot and it turns out I don't need it and at best it is worth 50 or 60 now.

one is OOP, the other is obscure and OOP. if these can be considered "readily available", then where do you draw the line?

As in you can go on ebay and buy it, install your exploit and resell, much the same way as SMW is readily available and it's been out of production for years, there is still hundreds of copies on ebay/amazon etc, not readily available would be something that there is not enough copies to go around, if they would of made and exploit for say the oot kiosk cart, that would if been problem, but as it stands you can buy oot or cubic ninja, use it once and sell it on and get atleast 80% of your money back

You got ripped off. Should've bought a Sky3DS instead (unless you really like the game).

Yeah, you do that. Wait long and hard. Do the time. Keep your 3DS in a drawer somewhere and hope for the best.

...or, you could pay someone with a CN/OOT/Sky3DS or buy them a beer, and borrow their cartridge for a sec until you install the exploit, after which it would be smooth sailing.

How do I make my DSTWO work again on my new 3ds LL since I got the ds profile exploit running now?

Is there a tutorial about the bluecard?

Yes I did. I am on this board almost every day and I took a few days off and popped in on a Friday to find the exploit had been released. I have 3 N3DSs to support and was in a panic. Was able to get one that night at GS for $50 but I had already committed to the $90 one. It is still sealed so I should be able to get a decent price for it, I just need to get off my ass and sell it. :)

Btw I did but a sky and 3 CN, so I am stocked. Plan on keeping them as I am working on teaching my boys to do this stuff for themselves. The sky will come in handy for friends to use and as multi tool for all the CN exploits.

The menu for that is still there.

Microsd managment will be disabled on Sysnand when downgraded using mset. It will be there in Emunand but when entering you can't get back to the main menu. Press Home button to exit just fine or use msd managment cia instead.

I just installed the MSET exploit on my N3DS. I can get the GW menu to come up just fine using the DS profile exploit now, but when I try to load emunand (launch GW mode), the system will just black screen sometimes, maybe 50% of the time. I haven't done this enough to get an accurate percentage, but I know I never had this problem with either the CN or OOT exploit. Is anyone else experiencing this? I tried backreading some and I didn't see anything
