Sorry for making some obvious questions, but I've been lurking long without understanding.
I've been planning on flashing my dsl for a while now, but I haven't got anyone to ask about some elementary questions much less than the more 'advanced' ones.

First off. I've understood the flashing process to be like this:
necessary items:
1. ds (in my case Lite)
2. flashcart, some kinda storage device like g6lite or supercard lite
3. passcard, for flashing (has to be lite compatible?)
"simply" load the flashing software to flashcart, using a passcard to access the cart and execute the flashing program.
After this the ds will be able to load from the flashcart, will not show nintendo warningscreen and does not need the passcard anymore.

Please do correct me if I'm wrong. I never got this confirmed from anyone

My plan wasto buy a g6lite+passcard 3 from shop.01media today, but I wanted it confirmed to be a good buy first, which didn't work out well.
I got the tip to buy the SuperCard Lite instead of the g6. Now I'm confused.

I do want a flashcart that can do some homebrew, I have some 'business in the scene'. I wan't to be able to play backuped NDS and GBA games. And I wan't a Lite model, nothing sticking out of my gbaslot.
Rom compability+price are my prios.
I'm not interested in a media player, I already have an mp3player.

The g6lite+passcard3 costs ~$150 while I would get a supercard lite, a passcard and a micro sd memory for ~$120.
Are there any obvious flaws to the supercard lite which makes it a bad buy?
Are there any obvious flaws to the g6lite which makes it a bad buy?
Are there any way to transfer data to the micro SD cards exept for some special reader? (I do have some standard "9-in-1' card reader, but I'm not sure it supports micro SD)
Are there any differences between different passcards? I never figured this. I only though they were used once for flashing.

The m3 lite seems to be to expensive and the dsxtreme doesn't have gba support. But are there any other ones worth looking at?

Please help out, I'm getting really stressed about this.

For FlashMe there is an entire forum dedicated for that. It is better to read it from there than by me.

1. The SCL isn't very good with GBA games, 85% of them works I think. At least the amount isn't 90% since the most essential games like FFIV and FFV lag.

2. The G6 has only 512MB of memory, the requirements rise as the time goes on and it lacks homebrew support completely. The SCL is perfect for that and especially for programs like DSLinux.

3 The MicroSDs have an adapters along the package that makes them to work as SD cards.

4. The SuperKey and PassCard3 are the same product with different sticker.

5. Not right now, the DSLink maybe.

Btw, use search for more in-depth answers. There are dozens of them. There isn't anything that is perfect and cheap+perfect doesn't just match.

So basically SCL if I want cheap and expandable memory, and G6 if I want better GBA support but no homebrew?

The SCL gba lags, are they playable or is the gba support really bad?

You can check the GBA compatibility from here: http://www.rothmans.joskeonline.com/supercardsite/

The EZFlash 4 series is cheap and has perfect GBA support and a good NDS support. Check a thread from the same main forum but go down just a bit.

The G6L doesn't support any homebrew that writes to the memory, like most of the emulators. Some run but you can't save the progress.

I'll probably go with the SCL then. If I don't like it I can always sell it off to my little sister

Ah, I'm buying the passme with a friend, and we have 4 different DSLites. So I don't want to depend on having the passme around.
Thanks though.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
