Maybe someone already said that (I didn't read this huge 189-paged topic, sorry about that) but I can't help but keep wondering why the No More Memory feature doesn't work with all the games... Is it so hard to implement? Why Devolution supports more games using its similar feature? Why can't I play Chibi Robo using NMM? Why? WHY?

...
Oh, sorry! That's sure embarrassing! :P
Dios Mios rights on the Mios while Devolution is an IOS so it has more space to write codes and perfect things!

Hmmm, right. So the coder chose a bunch of games and added their compatibility. I truly hope that this changes in a not-so-far future...

Probably not. It probably just uses different approach since MIOS has less memory and space for coding this feature where as Devolution has more space. Probably NMM uses some sort of generalized idea how games handle memory card access/read/write but there is always a lot of unique games in every regard or programming so games like that probably indeed do need a manual tweak to work.

When i was reading about DIOS MIOS for the first time it did crossed my mind to try this No More Memory stuff. But then i checked online and came across some pretty cheap memory cards. I figured since DIOS MIOS still have some compatibility issues, i better trim down the probability of problems and get a real card.

I hope i dont sound like a jerk here (especially since i know next to nothing), but its just an advice, a memory card can save you some trouble

(back in the day i had a nice memory card, but it VANISHED the minute i lend my game cube to my girlfriend´s brother)

Ehh not exactly, Crediar and the DML team worked really hard to try and make the NMM as compatible as possible with most games, but of course programming is a lot harder than it sees and games use different codes and ways o saving, could NMM be better in Dios Mios? Yes, but it'll take more space and time, I believe they took the time and used the space to focus more on game compatibility rather than saving compatibility, in any case I believe you can find memory cards on ebay pretty easily, assuming yourWii has a port for the memory card or else you won't even be able to run Dios mios!

So, Disc loading does not work for you on 2.6?
Because, it generally should, at least according to general goal of Dios Mios, Retail Disc loading should not be broken after 2.0
I haven't played off of discs in a long time because DM never really gave me any trouble playing off the HDD.
The only games I have that don't work properly with DM are streaming audio games and I only have Ikaruga and Super Monkey Ball, both which I use DEVO to play just fine.
For me on DM 2.6, 5 games (IIRC) or so don't work properly after upgrading from 2.2u3: Cubivore & Custom Robo (font & GFX issues), Doshin (doesn't load past the Nintendo screen), From Russia With Love (stuck on DM screen), Mario Kart (crashes when start is pressed), and the Zelda double disc (system resets when either game is selected).
I haven't had time these days to play or to tinker. I plan on reinstalling the original MIOS and then DM 2.6 again.

1.24.13
So I tried a few different versions of DM and with 2.5; Cubivore, Custom Robo, Doshin, From Russia w.Love, and Mario Kart load just fine.
With 2.6, no matter what I've done just won't load/play those titles for me.
Oh and disc loading does work.

Has Wind Waker been confirmed working/broken with Dios Mios 2.6? I'm using that with the DM Booster to launch from my USB stick and when I get to the first orca (old fella on Windfall) training session and go for and sort of combo the game locks up with a horrid buzzing sound. Also I would much appreciate someone reuploading Dios Mios Lite so I could try that instead. When ever I try to download from the official links the site (uploader.bet) blocks me from downloading, stating that I have exceeded the number of downloads per hour when I haven't downloaded anything. It's quite frustrating.

Edit/Update: Gah sorry about the double post below this one. Anyways found the 2.2 version of Dios Mios and tried Wind Waker with that and I can now string hits together in combos. Has this bug been reported yet? How would I go about doing that as it is rather serious (game breaking). Still can't download Dios Mios from the official page so I'm still looking for help with that.

I've tried loading games with the latest USB Loader GX and DM, but it always prompts me to move them to the SD card. I thought the point of DM was loading off a drive. What could be causing this?

I wonder, is playing retail discs is working perfectly?

TLOZ: twilight princess wont work when playing on disc.

It crashes after the TV settings reminder.
Also, kirby air ride doesn't seem to work. Top ride mode crashes.

i have the same problem. I use 2.5 (for me the best revision). Use 2.6 only for discswapping. SAVE the games and if u have problem continue the same games with 2.5.

I don't know if this is known or not but, the no more memory feature doesn't work for fire emblem path of radiance. I have it turned on in settings. With no real memory card inserted. When I start the game it says no memory card found. In other words, it can't detect the virtual memory. This isn't really a big deal for me since I have actual memory cards that I can use instead. But I was wondering if this is a known problem for anyone else.

any way of making the load times better?
I'm not sure about startup load times but with in-game load times I think having a 32k cluster formatted USB or 64k cluster SD helps there (anything smaller will work but be slower.) For smaller drives you might have to use FAT16 (FAT) instead of FAT32 in order for this option to be available.
Also, it depends on the game but a lot of times FST format (GCReEx) loads faster than the ISO (DiscEX or RAW) format.

Other than that, a faster SD card (class number) or USB device would be the only way to help that out that I can think of.

Ok so I'm going to take on a pretty large undertaking. I will be testing my entire game library of about 70+ games with DM 2.2 2.3 - 2.6, in ISO 1:1 rips verified hashes with redump.org, DiscEx, GcReEx formats, with the most popular patches such as progressive patch, pad hook, and widescreen hack.

I will NOT be testing NMM as i have several real memory cards backed up and don't want to bother with NMM compatibility issues and will use the latest DM(L) booter as my loader exclusively.

I will make a post about every 5 games or so with full details on results or better yet if I still have the permissions to edit the compatibility list I will post my changes there.

This will be very time consuming and will be done on my free time, this will take quite a while so please don't expect this to be completed quickly or anytime soon. At first only games I have will be tested alphabetically, afterwards I will begin to test games I do not have. oh and Audio Streaming games will be skipped and labeled as such since I don't want to play the game w/o proper audio.

My goal is to provide as accurate a compatibility list as possible, so whenever crediar does decide to work on DM if ever, he will know exactly which rev is the latest a game worked on with what options. As well as to help users play the game they want.

Also if users want to keep progressive patch and padhook on with their 2 disc games just use 2.6 for disc switching and revert back to the rev which works with those options.

Also when installing DM install a clean MIOS wad, clean BC v6 first then DM. When uninstalling DM use a WAD manager to uninstall the current version first with the original WAD installed then install the Wad of the version u want. Yes u can overwrite but this presents issues that some people are having especially when different DM versions are being written, sometimes certain things are not overwritten properly, so be sure to uninstall DM WAD properly first then install new WAD.

Edit: I'll b testing the no disc feature as well. Which DM release has no-disc auto detected already So that you wouldn't have to choose it in the loader? I can't quite remember that far back. It would be a big help if anyone can confirm otherwise I might start with 2.3 NVM, the changelog right on the google SVN is extensive. I see 2.2 is the last rev which has the no-disc as an option config.. hmm I might have to start with 2.3 if that's the case but I'll make a decision when I start testing.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
