Leading UK specialist retailer GAME has had its online security breached in the latest attack by hackers.
Customer information, including email addresses and passwords (stored as plain text) were obtained from the company's website and posted on the internet, according to Softpedia.
There is no word on whether the hackers managed to access any payment or credit card information.
Catalyst-Gaming, a website based in Northern Tasmania, Australia, was also attacked.
Last year, hackers breached the security systems protecting scores of websites, accessing customer information from firms such as Sony, Valve, Nintendo, Epic Games and Bethesda.
MCV has contacted GAME for comment.

Will websites stop storing passwords on plain text, it's not secure, encyrpt your stuff, even monkeys can encyrpt password information.

They haven't emailed their customers about the breach and nothing is stated on their website. I guess they just go on as if nothing happened.

OMFG!
I order a lot of stuff online there :/
PLAIN TEXT!? WTF :(
Same, I always order games from them since they're fast and cheaper than buying in local stores at my country... I really hope that the wallets section was included on the hacking...

damit, my debit card is on there, i don't know if it will be too late to remove my payment details now would it?

i just changed my password, i don't know if that will make any difference though.

just deleted my payment card as a precaution too, game offer paypal as a payment option so i think that is the only way i will be making payments in the future from now on.

So they're claiming that there was no hack?

I woudnt be surprised if they are lying about not being hacked...
i made an account about two weeks ago... only had my email address in there

looked at the list on pastebin and my email wasnt there... then i when to 5 gmail accounts and tried all of them, wasnt able to log in to any of them... so i wouldnt be surprised if they are lying about hacking them

Pretty sure they have more than 200 or so customers lol. This supposed hack is completely untrue, looks like they just stole the list from the Pastebin 'EMAILS HACKED BY SEN' which has nothing to do with Game.co.uk
