Because every Nintendo system launches with Mario, Zelda, and Metroid? Even then, these franchises definitely don't make Nintendo systems "killer". If they did then the Gamecube wouldn't have had such piss poor sales since everyone raves over how strong their Mario, Zelda, and Metroid titles were.

This months UK gamesTM magazine also says they will be unveiled this year. It doesn't give any specifics like E3 etc. but all the same it's very interesting.
It also lists a number of developers that are working on next gen games already.

Wii U launches this year right? the two other incoming consoles are, as far as proof goes, still nonexistent?

Wii U will have to launch good, but if it does this right, good luck to the other consoles. Also, this time Nintendo, steal some games from the other companies the way they steal your ideas. Grab Skyrim (make it lagless), Battlefield 3 (make a special controller for it--shape it like a gun), and Reggie please sell your soul to get Blizzard to develop a Starcraft 2 and Diablo III and World of Warcraft port on your machine.

Own the entire fucking market.

Well according to this video Microsoft filed a Patent to have an in-built recorder for some sort of Console, so I'm guessing there's a chance Microsoft might be at E3

EDIT: They might be at E3 with a new console is what I meant

There's no doubt in my mind he's already on the case and it's already going to be the main topic of the next Tuesday Vid. With the title PS4 + XBOX720 LEAKED!!! or something like that lol.

Do you think Sony can afford selling another console at loss, after the PS3 they lost million of $.
So, no console at 600$ at launch mean no ultra powerful console at all.
Only Micro$oft can afford that.

3DS begs to differ, look how poorly it was selling, then look at the rapid sales in quick session with Mario Kart and SM3DL release towards the end of the year, Obviously they 'Mario' are system sellers in 3DS's case. You could say the success of the Wii, made Mario appeal even more well to people as they tried out galaxy and MKWii fine games.

Respected UK games industry publication MCV is reporting that an extremely reliable source has told them that both Microsoft and Sony will be showing off their next generation consoles at this summers E3 event. It will mark the very first time in the show's 17-year history that three fresh, rival console formats will be competing against each other.

I think you're quite mistaken. The PS1 and Saturn came out in 1994, while N64 came out in 1996. The Dreamcast came out in 1998, PS2 in 2000, and Gamecube in 2001. He's correct in saying this will be the first time that 3 competing consoles that haven't been released yet will be shown off at E3 (if the rumors are true).

I can personally see Microsoft announcing a new console this year, The 360 is starting to show it's age and it's time to upgrade. Sony, with all the recent events of hacks not only for the console but for the company, it has damaged sony's image a lot, although they handled it well enough, but that combined with the money lost on the PS3 I'm not so sure sony can release a new console even if they wanted to. Nintendo this year really needs to just show off the WiiU and focus 100% on that. Last E3's presentation of it was rubbish and left me confused, I think what we all want is a full list of official System Specs, Playable Game Demos. I'd like to see the menus, a better look at the controller, and a nice like of extra features besides just playing games. We can all pray that nintendo introduces a better online system too (maybe remove friend codes all together)

Why not exactly? It's possible they can announce it at this E3, and release it next year.

If they announce any console successor now, their current gen sales would surely drop. Which is something they of course don't want. Who would buy the PS3/360 if the next gen is already announced? You're basically buying a system that will be dead, together with most of the servers, in 2 years? Secondhand you would maybe buy it, but that doesn't help Sony/MS one bit.
