Is there exp and levels?
I think it's a mission and collecting game, you register to take a mission, complete it, full of item you collected you sell or mix them to make better items and start over with next missions.
I would consider it an Action game. Not even adventure, just action, as you don't follow a story, you just register missions one after another and go fight monsters as requested by the mission. Same as Earth seeker, not an RPG, not an adventure game. Just a multi-missions-item-collecting game

Now I played only MH3, and I don't remember if there were experience point and winning levels from killing or doing an action.
If there is exp, then humm, it would be mixed game. Action, exploration, mission game with improvement over actions you do, without a story.
Some games have single genre, other have mixed one, other are just different.
How would you classified Katamari Damacy

(well it's getting offtopic, we should create a new topic to talk about user's definition of game genre)

I might try this game just because Yasunori Mitsuda worked on the soundtrack. I listen to the Chrono Trigger and Cross OST's almost daily.

Mitsuda only composed the ending song. The other composers - which include Yoko Shimomura - still did a great job, though.

Shimomura only made like around 10 songs.

For all the people: If you expected an OST full of great work by Shimomura, you are wrong. What you got is an OST full of outstanding music by names you had never heard: ACE+ and Manami Kiyota (but absolutely hope to hear again). This is a fantastic OST full of a wide variety of styles and sounds, one that hits all the right highs and lows of emotion that we love so much about the best RPGs, and I believe anyone could find something to enjoy in it.

BTW, I read the first spanish review and it says "Best JRPG on the Generation".

Confirmed to be dual-layered.

Where the hell did you see that? The japanese version is a single layer with some space left on disc. I doubt this one will be dual layer either. One audio track won't make it go above the 4.7 GB.

In other words, it's not dual layer unless a valid source can be provided and since there is any, it's still believed to be single layer.

But the japanese game is ~4.37GB, and Xenoblade Chronicles includes the original japanese voice acting, so it's not hard to believe the english release is, in fact, dual layered.

Still, very much doubt they will put it on dual layer. A little more expensive to produce and why do that when you can just easily compress the audio or something by putting it on single layer.

Well, we will see when it comes out, thank god I still have one dual layer just in case.

BTW, I assume this is gonna get leaked. PAL stuff usually do and Europe has an habit of leaking stuff early these days.

The japanese audio track (without BGM!) was slightly more than 1GB. Add another GB for the English soundtrack - you're well beyond the 4,37 GB of a single-layer disc (the disc was already full to the brim with 4,10 GB because of the update partition not being counted!). Also, how do you think they can "compress" it any further. It is already compressed in *.adx and *.ahx formats, which are very well suited to video games (much larger than mp3 at comparable quality, but very light on CPU during decoding). And the English audio track is not all that had to be added, consider that there are now five instead of one written language.

AHAHA, I won't be able to use my original game disc !
Not even to dump it to my HDD...., and I know no one with a wii I could use.
Thank you Nintendo for your uncalibrated drives.

you mean your drive is broken?
Because normally you can play dual-layer backups.

I just mean launch day Wii can't read Double layered disc.
Nintendo just didn't think they would release game bigger than 4GB? Why caring about calibrating the drive? Too lazy to check the drive for the first launch wave? I don't know their reason. I know only the result

I have a guide to fix the POT myself, but I don't want to open it all again. and I don't have a resistance tester anyway.

It would be quicker (and legal) to have a friend with a Wii to dump it myself, but I don't know anyone.
I'll go with the 30H download. It's not like I didn't bought the game to show support and say Thanks to the publisher which made the effort to translate it...
But don't take it wrong, I'm glad anyway that they decided to go with the Double Layered game to fit all those Languages and keep Japanese Dub

Fans really appreciate it!
It's a good thing, really. It's just that some Wii are not compatible, it's just too bad for me.
