Some say that a man is defined only as how others see him. It makes sense after all, following the logic of trees falling and what-not. Nevertheless, they are wrong.

I try to make my life transparent in both real life and through the intrawebs, but even so, it would only make sense that each of you can only see the tip of the iceberg. Such is the nature of man, only registering what is immediately apparent, after all. And then, there are those of you who have no idea who I am. I'm sure there have been new tempers since I made my semi-departure from this place (I say semi because I keep getting dragged back by Ace Faith and messages from Costello...not to mention the regular GBAtemp podcast that I'm on all the time...).

Don't get the wrong idea, though. I'm not going through some sort of existential crisis. I know exactly who I am. I know exactly what I do, and I know exactly what I need to do. This is just an exercise in recreation.

So, let me have it. With as much length or brevity as you deem fit, tell me who I am. I'd very much like to see.

The man who managed to rouse the people of GBATemp to semi-worship you. You've become a celebrity in almost record time, with your... nipples.

You are also the one who brought MLP into GBATemp. (I think) Not to mention, people call you Jesus because of your beard (Which you may or may not have shaven by now).

An icon of infamy/familiarity to GBATemp, you shall be... the one and only Monkat.

Certainly not shaven, goodness, no!

I have trimmed it, though. It's far less dramatic. Really doesn't look bad, in my opinion.

ah...Labels...
Why monkat must you encumber your already heady life with "labels"?

As you already state this is a futile exercise, I am curious as to why you didn't just ask;
What do you think of me?
to which i would have been reminded of what once was said to me;
"why dear if you must insist that I think of you at all, then fine, I think of you, so therefore you are."

to encumber yourself with more can be very daunting... just be placated with being... and try not to let others opinions change who or what you are.
I for one am ready to bask in the glory of other's existence.
Shine brightly.... all of you please...

edit spelling mistake, sigh...

No one said it was futile! I said it was recreational. Sadly, it seems that due to lack of participation, little fun was had

When I ask someone else who I am, does that not carry the same meaning as asking what they think of me? The only thing that they can accurately respond with are their own personal feelings, after all.

*cue's TTGL speech about being Kamina*

Jokes aside (or is it?), I suppose that since your semi-departure, you're sort of like a single man falling throughout an atmosphere without a planet: gravity always pulls you back towards the center, even when you close in at the edges. However corny or unlikely this may sound, you are the person who never falls out of sight: you're a single soul in a void, creating your reality relative to whatever exists or doesn't exist around you.

If none of this is makes any sense to what I'm saying, I mean to say that you are as human as you are at a true social encounter as you are at the hands of the keyboard. But because of this unexpected amount of transparency, most people try to look past it, because we're quick to dismiss that information: that you're actually a human behind a keyboard.
The reason you ask seems not to find the public opinion relative to yourself: it appears more to me that you want to see if there's still an honest user on the Temp, who shares his life through the wires.

And frankly, based on the kind of people you know here, I'm pretty sure this is the wrong place to ask the question (Not the EOF specifically, but GBAtemp as a whole).

my personal opinion was that you should bask in the glory of other's existence.
so stop asking people who they think you are or what they think of you.
or they could have responded with i think you are really ... fill in famous person name here.
I refuse to play that game as this is R-E-C-R-E-A-T-I-O-N-a-l and i can answer however I choose. I also feel that as your explanation was rather obtuse the real question you were asking... could be answered with any banality.
