Hi !

Here is my new application, .... currently under heavy development, but in state as is now is perfectly usable for reading OfflineList DAT files, and Rominator "ds.rod" databases.

and since it can use Rominator ROD database which I use on my Mac with rominator .... I think it relevant to this topic

Hijacking a thread isn't cool. You should have started a new thread and made a small post here pointing to it. Not that I mind your app's existence or a quick announcement pointing to a separate thread but I do want this thread to be about Rominator Updates only, as the thread title suggests.

Please modify your post (and I will modify this quote) so that this thread doesn't end up getting convoluted with posts about 2 different apps.

I did, .... sorry, .... I think this is relevant to this topic, and I need some feedback from users ....
Rominator app isn't upgraded for long time, DAT reader for Mac does not exist.... so I make new app myself for personal use, .... and sharing is OK...

SPECIAL REQUEST
Someone named Zoc uploaded an unofficial box art compilation to FileTrip as part of the official box art files. To make matters worse, it wasn't titled correctly (had the wrong ROM numbers) and was marked as the LATEST FILE. In order to keep the versioning clean, I would appreciate it if you delete the file. You are free to re-upload it as a stand alone file if you see a need for it, but please do not make it part of the official fileset. I've worked very hard to clean up the files on FileTrip and would like it to stay that way. Thank you for your understanding.

Rascal, can you add info about patched games or do you only add clean ROMs?

Soma Bringer, in fact, is mainly played with its translation patch. would you kindly add some data on it?

You are correct, I only put scene data into the database. If the Soma Bringer patch was done correctly, it will still have the header information and be recognizable. Do not trim it. And if you want to rename it, then don't use auto-rename in the application and give it your own name.

It appears 5667 and 5668 are both incorrectly marked USA roms if you want to fix that for the next update.

I have checked on my end and these two ROMS are listed as (N) for Norway, the country they originate from. Please check on your end to see if it is displaying (U) or USA. If yours shows (U) then possible something went wrong with the update and I'll repost it.

And before anybody tells me that (N) is for Netherlands, technically it should be (H) for Holland so that (N) could be used for Norway. That would match up with Nintendo's country codes (HOL) and (NOR) in the ROM headers. Unfortunately, Rominator uses (N) for both Norway and Netherlands and also doesn't display a flag for Norway. Sorry about that guys, I didn't write the program and I don't think I can fix this "bug", but I will try.

Rominator only includes numbered scene releases and most translations, demos, and utilities (like Pokemon distributions) are considered "XXXX" releases and are not officially cataloged.

The translation patches that I have tested (Pokemon English translations of Japanese ROMs) never changed the ROM header so the patched ROMs always showed up as the original ROMs in Rominator. If this isn't the case for the ROM/Patch combination you are using, perhaps you can use a ROM header editor to correct it and then it will show up as the original.

I have a custom search set up to show me all missing USA roms and those two keep showing up - although they are marked Norway when I look at the DS Game Catalog.

It looks like the Josefine games have always been marked Europe (3368, 3923, 4158, 4196, 5145) and the NOR is throwing those two off? No biggie though!

I hope this it the right place to ask and I figured since it was in relation to Rominator it'd be ok, If not I'll just get rid of it, I was wondering if a) 2008.20 is the latest version and b) If anyone has the donation key that I believe the developer gave out on his website when he said he was ceasing development.

Gang, I wanted to let you know that for an unknown amount of time, I cannot keep up with Rominator updates. As of today, I am 40+ titles behind. The reason I can't keep up is that I recently started a new job in a new state and have my hands full with all that requires. Thanks in advance for your understanding. I should have mentioned it earlier, but I've been so swamped with everything that I haven't had the opportunity. I may pick it back up in the future, but for now I'm taking an indefinite leave from doing Rominator updates. I'm sorry to leave you hanging.

Hate to see you go Rascal. I was hoping you'd be able to carry it out until the death of the DS - which is already underway with the development switch to 3DS.

Sadly, my newer ROMs will have to sit at the end of my Rominator list like ugly, badly-named, adopted step-children.
