thanks for the heads up and hey I know how you feel, dealextreme is the same way.

?

Dealextreme was a great shop, but they don't sell any flashcards for over a year now.

guess you never tried to return anything =P. it took 8 months of arguments (fixed) to get refunded for a crappy dingoo a320. i'd never buy anything over $10 from them again.

-another world

That's any Chinese company though.

From my personal experience, on going with 4CoolDay, it's not them that are causing the trouble its Singapore post that are the problem, my item was posted the next day but is still stuck in a sorting house in Singapore two weeks later and this is what is referred to as speed post
rofl2.gif
, what a joke
all item sold by 4CoolDay come out of Singapore
Have a look at the tracking info remember it was handed in on the 11th, its a joke

I bought a M3i Zero from them, and for a number of reasons I think it's a fake. It won't take the official firmware, the microsd adapter it came with never worked and the plug to plug in the firmware adapter is on the wrong side. And the microsd card is clearly a fake. the label isn't even on straight, and it is unreadable in every other device I own.

I wasn't surprised by the shipping time, I've ordered stuff from China, Korea etc before.

I should have been suspicious as the price was so low.

Still, I've gotten it to work well enough for now. It's in french, but it plays all the games I've tried on it except Vampire Moon, which crashes at random and won't work again until the save file is deleted.

I have ordered a new one from a more reliable source, hopefully I can post a comparison.

Over all, would not shop with these guys again.

Bumping is fun!

Seriously, why did you buy an M3i0?

Wow, I feel like an idiot, didn't how old this thread was. I work nights, and I get bored and space sometimes.

I went with the M3i0 because I'd had the M3 before and it worked well for me. I assume it'd be starting a holy war to ask which is the best card.

Nah, there's actually a unanimous agreement that the Supercard DSTwo is the best flash cart around.

Acekard2i comes in second with the R4i Gold coming in third. Everything else is kinda meh in comparison. There actually is a handy chart around with the most popular flash carts on it with a comparison of features, but I don't feel like going to find it.

The chart.

Note that the prices given are from chinese shops.
If you order from a shop in another country it's more expensive.
[*]The original R4.
NOT "R4-III Upgrade", NOT "R4-SDHC", NOT "R4i NDSLL", NOT "R4 Red", NOT "R4 King"...
NOT ANYTHING ELSE WITH "R4" IN THE NAME! JUST "R4 Revolution For DS".

The cheap card for somebody that just wants to play games on a DS/Lite.

[*]R4i Gold
The cheap card for somebody that wants to play games on a DSi with more storage.

[*]Acekard 2i
Mid-range card for people that want to play games on a DSi/XL with some extra features.

[*]EZ-Flash Vi
Higher-end card with even more features.

[*]Supercard DSTwo
Pretty much the ultimate card right now.
  • DS / DS Lite
The card will work on an original (fat) DS or a DS Lite.
  • DSi / DSi XL
The card will work on a DSi or DSi XL as well.
  • Game Updates
Firmware updates are what let cards play newer games, these are the life-blood of the card.
  • SDHC
SDHC refers to SD cards larger than 2GB (gigabytes). If there's no SDHC support, you can only use SD cards up to 2GB.
  • WiFi Update
The Acekard 2i can update it's cheats (and get minor bug fixes) over WiFi without having to connect to a computer.
  • Auto Ap Bypass
Some carts have special features to ignore AP in most games, letting you play them without having to wait for a firmware update first. The Acekard only has partial support for this right now.
  • RTS
The Real-Time Save (Save State) function lets you save and reload your game progress at any moment you wish.
  • In-Game Guide
You can pull up text files and images in-game, in order to check a walkthrough or map you downloaded at any time during a game.
  • Slow Motion
The card lets you slow down the game speed as you wish.
  • In-Game Cheats
The card lets you create and modify cheats while the game is running.
  • Special Homebrew
The card has multiple pieces of special homebrew, such as it's own GBA and SNES emulators, as well as text/PDF reader and video player.
  • Battery Life
Unfortunately the DSTwo's extra CPU and RAM (which give it the special features) eat into the battery life a bit.

Maybe you didn't set it up right. I ordered an acekard 2i from them. And its legit and working flawlessly. Haven't applied the papertrick yet.

Could be, it'd been years since I set one of these up. And I am such an idiot I forgot I studied French back in grade school, once I remembered that I had no issues with the menus and changing settings. Getting old sucks kids!

The micosd card it came with looks fake, I'll have to find it so I can post some pics. I haven't tried the paper trick, but it's not a huge deal since I'm only having issues with one game, and it's not like it's a really good game. :-)

Maybe I'll give a few of the other cards a look.

It does not matter if it is fake, the most important thing is. Does it work? There no point in having a 'real' microsd that does not work

I think this "microsd" is a bit of black plastic with some metal strips glued to it. It doesn't not work. The flash card works fine with a different card.

I actually ordered another one just because it took so long to ship I assumed I'd never see it. Besides, most of them are so cheap it can't hurt to try a few different ones.

I just recieved my m3i0 today from 4coolday. Immediately after taking it out of the package I suspected it to be fake. It feels very flimsy compared to my old m3 ds real. At first, the spring loaded micro sd slot didn't work. I had to pull out my micro sd with some tweezers. It won't flash for me, the light always stays solid. Not to mention the plug for the adapter IS on the wrong side, as you said.

Pic: Fake m3i0
I took it apart and I am no expert on this, but after googling some legit m3i0 insides it does not look the same.

So yeah. DON'T buy from 4coolday.

They are well known for selling fake flash cards as I found out I had the same problem with a M3i Zero as you had but the firmware did work (I think?) it was very flimsy and broke about a week after I got it
