yesterday i tried to play monster hunter tri.but shortly after starting the game it stuck and i heard a beep sound continuously.while trying to install som wads i bricked my korean wii which was already on system menu 4.2u to 003 error.next i tried to install homebrew channel.but failed.

but i reinstalled cios rev14 through preloader and another message called system menu files are corrupted showed up..after doing some tweaks i got my system menu back.but still it was not playing mh3.fearing a brick again i tried to uninstall what i installed using wad manager.these were the wads i uninstalled.

cIOS202[38]-v65535
cIOS222[38]-v65535
cIOS223[37]-v65535
cIOS224[60]-v65535
cIOS249[57]-v19
cIOS250[38]-v19

to my bad luck again it again bricked ..i know it is fixable but i am unable to work it out....

better idea is not to install the wads best to use the installer for those ios's hermes cios v5 use the same ios numbers for the same slots (slots are 250,249,224,223,222) btw if you wish to run monster hunter tri w/o the crashing use waninkoko's cios installer rev 19 and select base ios 37 what ever you are useing to load the game use ios 249. waninkoko's cios works better than hermes for some reason for ios37 based games (guitar hero, rockband, monster hunter tri)

Backup and format your sd-card
Extract Dop-Mii_v12_CB2_BB2.zip to sd:\
Click the SD ICON from the channel menu
Load the boot.dol, dop-mii starts

Select Install ios36 with fakesign
Install from NUS if the wii is online
Install from SD for offline install, and extract these wads to sd:\wad
IOS15-64-v257.zip
IOS15-64-v523.zip
IOS36-64-v3351.zip
Be sure to apply all 3 patches to ios36

Select ios36, press A
Select ios, mios, bc, press A
Install IOS60-64-v6174 with all 3 patches
Place the wad is sd:\wad for offline install from SD, or just install from NUS
IOS60-64-v6174.zip
PRESS B to back out to main menu

Select System Menu, press A
Select System Menu 4.1 (u, e, j, k) for your region
Install from NUS if online, or offline from SD- place all needed wads in sd:\wad

4.1e-System Menu-NUS-v450.zip = PAL Euro
4.1j-System Menu-NUS-v448.zip= NTSC-J JAPAN

Install System Menu 4.1
Backup and Restore priiloader when prompted (very important),
Preloader will be removed
Exit to HBC
DO NOT REBOOT WII

Restore Priiloader
If you have priiloader, dop-mii should have offered to backup/restore it-
If Priiloader was restored by dop-mii, go to below hacks.ini
If you have preloader, it will be removed
If you had preloader, or if priiloader was not restored for some reason
Extract Priiloader_0.4_BB2.zip to sd:\
Install priiloader from HBC,
-Read the instructions, and hold down B, and press + to use ios249. This will install priiloader.

Enable mandatory Priiloader Hacks
Extract hacks.ini.zip to sd:\
Hold reset and boot into priiloader
Click hacks, enable "block disk updates" and "block online updates"

@Xdqwerty, People who create revival services for the Wii end up in disaster, same goes for Pretendo lol.

@SylverReZ, atleast wiimmfii went fine although people only use it for Mario kart Wii
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
At least if they ban you for cheating, get another Wii. They're cheap as chips.

Remember when RiiShop was a thing?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    not really
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
It got shutdown because somebody "accidentally" leaked the database for the amount of people using the beta.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
RiiShop is the laziest way of downloading Wii games. Did somebody not think of this through?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Brb
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
ngl i feel like if a bunch of my friends have wiis and know how to get wiimmfi and back up their NAND, then we could do a PMEX Remix tournament
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
maybe even add UMVC3/DBFZ and make it a biathlon/triathlon

Too bad Excite Truck wasn't multi player :(
