Okay, so yes, i've played all the final fantasys including 7 and 4, and after all this time this is my simple question. I can buy why everyone loves 7 and wants a remake so badly. It's not my personal favorite, but whatever. If it's remade, i'll still be one of the first in line to buy it. But after seeing Final Fantasy 4 remade for DS (1) and now this Final Fantasy 4 after years wiiware crap (I mean crap in the nicest possible way because yes... I will play it,) (2) I just wana know when Final Fantasy VI is gonna get the credit it deserves.

The last time it got any true love was on the frickin ps1 (granted it was an awsome buy paired with chrono trigger)? And that was just some thrown together FMV sequences? I don't know what is holding then back.... do people think FF4 was better than FF6? Is there more of a market for FF4?

Am I wrong in this? Talk amongst yaselves...

final fantasy anthology for the psx came with ff5 and ff6. no chrono trigger.

how come you are posting this on the wii section? you should post on the ds section. ff3 got remade for ds as well as ff4. from what i read/heard, the creators of ff4 ds also wants to continue the series for the ds meaning ff5 and ff6 for ds. when will it happen? no one knows.

There were two bundles, and Chrono Trigger + FF3 (fairly sure that's the right FF) was definitely one of them.

I don't see why they're doing that after years crap with FF4 either... In terms of marketing, I'm pretty sure FF3(6) has a much larger following and I don't see how one would be more marketable than the other. FF3 is my second favorite FF, 7 being top of my list.

FFIV After Years was already done on cell phones in Japan a while ago, so its most likely a way to get a quick buck off of an easy localization effort. I can't imagine that it cost much to translate and port to Wiiwiare from mobile phones.

Anyway, I really hope FFV and FFVI end up getting the modernization treatment like FFIV did.

FF4 After Years being WiiWare would make moving this to the DS section debatable. I didn't realize it was already a cell phone game in Japan. Now it's obvious they're just going for some quick cash.

IMO, in terms of story and plot, FFVI is, by far, the best FF ever. In terms of gameplay, though, FFV is better, to my mind.

I have a ridiculous hate towards FFVII, though, so I'm "just a bit" biased to the old SNES games

I thought the GBA port was pretty darn good and had some nice extras. I mean what are you expecting? A complete 3D remake a la FF III and IV? As far as deserving credit, I think its one of the best RPGs I have ever played, and receives many accolades from fans. Personally I would rather they made a new FF in the vein of the 16 bit FFs, because the amount of effort needed to remake VI would be an enormous effort better spent on something new. FFVI has all the credit it deserves because its nearly perfect as is. Thats just my opinion though.

VII was my first Final Fantasy (seeing it played back in 1997 on a big-screen TV blew me away), and I'll always love it for that. My favorite one in terms of plot is VI as well, though.

Random thought: we need a Final Fantasy IX-2.

BS. That I like the SNES games has nothing to do with my hate for FFVII. Yes, it was groundbreaking at the time, but the story is just terribly overrated, IMO. If you like it, well, good for you.

I didn't say liking the SNES games had something to do with it. FF6 is my second favorite, and I love the other SNES games. I was just pointing out most people who like 6 the most hate on 7.

Yes!! I've been waiting like forever for someone to mention FFIX. It deserve a remake and a sequel. I play all FF series (seriously, including those craps FFX-2 and FFXII) and FFIX has a very comfortable feeling when playing, unique story and the best equipment system. BTW I don't really like the way they make money out of FFVII. It's not my fav. The story is too dark anyway. I doubt that they will make any FF titles on Wii. But if they do that would be nice. Wait, they might actually do, since FFIII and IV on DS and chocobo dungeon on DS and Wii. BTW, FF nowadays is not what it used to be. I mean those futuristic looking characters (soulless BTW), girlish-looking boys (I mean WTF? Has all Japanese gone gay?), unattractive girls (seriously, where are the pretty girls =) like Garnet/Dagger and Yuna?) and stupid stories. FF may come near to an end.
Just a note: I love all the songs in FFIX, I repeat, ALL the songs. If they ever remake any FF, just don't mess with the music (like FFIV, the main theme feels completely different).

6 was hands down the best ff game. 7 was damned good, and i can understand why people love it so much, it's second for me though, 6 will always have that spot. the plot, the characters, the villain (kefka was awesome), all of it. nothing will beat it for me. countless hours spent at that game, i still have a working cart for my snes for it.

many people played 7 first, and saw ff in 3d. for alot of these people (many of my friends included) it is hard to go back to the 2d games.

as for why the lovers of 4 love it more than 6. well hell if i know on that one..... i havent figured that out at all. 6 > 4 by far.

Final Fantasy 6 was the game in the series where story got a hell lot better in the series. But idk, maybe more people played 7 rather than 6 at its time, so yeah. I'm really not sure if a remake will come out soon. It better though eventually!

I'm on the same page, FF4 was a meh title, why not expand on Final Fantasy 6
And no I will never call it 3 america you can go stuff yourselves call it 6 or die! while your at it learn how to spell with the letter *U*.

Anyway to those people saying this should be in the DS thread,
No it shouldn't this is a thread asking why FFIV is getting special treatment.
So far 2 games
FFIV DS and

FFIV The After Years
Last time i checked thats a Wiiware title. Thus being valid in the wii section. So shush.

And whoever said Kefka was awesome, damn right. Best evil laugh ever.

FF6 didn't have the graphical power of FF7 did on the PSX, but what it lacked in graphics (although there were superb for the SNES) it made up for in story. After 7 it seemed to be more about flashy graphics.

I don't care how many Final Fantasy games they make, none will top FF6.

Lol, I laugh at your last sentence. Eventually, SE will create a FF that you'll like more than FF6.
Seriously, some people are so bent on their "favorite" FF that they bash others. Like FF7 fanbois? They bash IX and X like there's no tomorrow!

MY OPINIONS:
Final Fantasy VII had a very good storyline, but it wasn't the best (for me).
Final Fantasy IX has a good, but more of a "fun" plot/gameplay while maintaining it's seriousness, but is the most fun I think.
Final Fantasy X has THE BEST storyline (to me). Just love it.
