And with the account being hacked, when he does release the official version no ones going to believe its actually him.... Great piece of social engineering from someone against the loaders...

A name change will probably need to be done. How about WaninGator?

All this crap about him being hacked... anyone think maybe he just doesn't want to work on it anymore? Replace the threats from "Waninkoko" with "Nintendo" perhaps?

this has an easy solution ... ask an admin for the IP registered in the web log
Not if he's really german. We have dynamic IPs over here...

Yeah, but those dynamic IPs still have a distinct pattern for each individual and service provider. And you gotta assume the hacker (if there is one..) is also German or the IP adress will differ completely

if waninkoko really was threatening wiigator, i'm sure that he would come and deny it all on here (as well as claim that the files posted were fake...)

Dynamic IPs are in use everywhere but you can still use them to narrow it down to an ISP and/or country. If Wiigator's been logging in from his home computer using Tiscali Germany or something as his service provider, you can differentiate that in the logs from some kid in Nebraska using AOL who guessed his password. If the "hacker" has been dumb enough to log in with his normal account they can even match it up.

That would be pretty dumb on waninkoko's part since dozens of people are going to try it out anyway and they'd immediately report it as real. After marcan verified that it wasn't a bricker, I'm going to make a new backup of my mario kart disc and try it out tonight if this hasn't been figured out by then. I seriously doubt that it's real though.

omg ... 1hour and 15minute and this is what that happens. omg.
seriously i checked this a 1hour and 15 minutes ago during my infotech class and then i went to bio. now that it is lunch time .. i come back and poof ... the loader is out.. random.....

this is probablly not the loader and judgeing by everyone saying that his account was hacked..
we should either
get the ip and do one of the following.
block it
find who it is a mass murder or rape their family
take his wii
get his credit card numbers and buy that $7000 dollar wii-hd thing
or just ask wiigator and waninkoko by other methods than using this forum.. (msn or somthing perhaps)
and if it is wiigator... then i shall ask him .. why? why? wiigator why?

You're completely right

How about another nice theory? Wiigators account was hacked. Someone checked his PM folder, and found a few links he had sent to his beta testers. Then he posted this fake message. Well?

Well we could at least know if it came from Germany or somewhere else.

And a lot of people should chill the fuck out....the guys are doing something for free on their spare time...let them fucking be and released it when is ready....all of us would love to have the laoder yesterday, but since we are not the one coding it we cannot decide when it is going to be released. Quit the crap and wait.

Now let's wait to hear from Wiigator what the heck is really going on. And at the same time I do not believe Waninkoko threatened him in any form or fashion...for Christ sake the tow fellas just got to work as a team and now this bullshit?

This is how far I got, But I used a patched backup (don't have a non-patched one yet)

Sorry for the terrible quality, I use a composite cable on a TV card.

Wow, this is going to be interesting.

I guess waninkoko still can't recognize PPC binaries by sight, but looking at the DOL, it definitely has some code in it. And a lot of entropy. It's probably packed. Since I have BootMii anyway, I gave it a shot.

I didn't particularly set anything up (I just wiiloaded the file) so of course it failed. On the other hand, I obviously don't know if it actually loads anything or not, nor do I care. But it definitely does something, and it also isn't a bricker.

According to the picture it is looking for that tmd.1042 file that wiigater had claimed we would need later. I would highly doubt it is legit given everyone else's comments but they at least coded it that far.

That is so fucking crap, Gaisuto can you edit the post with the backuplauncher.dol thing ? It's safer to not have another leak-stuff-story.

What are the BETA-Testers of the 0.3 say ???
I'm pretty sure they should have other possibilities to contact waninkoko or Wiigator.

This completely mess needs to be solved.
Some official words from both devs should be written down.

That's a mean thing we have right here.... any any case!

edit: beaten

Yeah that's true. You could see it if there is a hacker that uses another provider. So I guess it's worth a try...
