So of course sometimes you can select the languages in the menu and often they are also in the Rome name so how can I find out if none of this is the case?

The last letter of gamecode indicates language or the country in which it was released.
You can easily check this with a header-checking tool or HEX editor.
This is only for officially released cartridges.
If it's a homebrew or translated rom, it'll be written correctly if the author cares.

To clarify from moon rabbit's reply: this is for games that don't show language on no-intro database

Multilang games always specify every available language on no-intro, so if it doesn't specify a language it means it's only one language, and then you can generally know what that language is from the region code

Region code wont help if the game happens to be multilang, you need to check no-intro for that. So check no-intro first, then if the language isnt specified on no-intro, you can check region code

If a game isn't on no-intro, you'll ultimately need to check for yourself and perhaps update no-intro with the information. Typically, European cartridges are multilang, but the header tells nothing on that front.

Yes, that's kind of the problem I have when there's a language selection screen when starting the game. It's obviously easy to tell which languages the ROM has, but without it it's quite difficult because then (in my case) German is automatically displayed or it runs in the set console language without asking (like Grand Theft Auto - Chinatown Wars, for example). And to answer 4d1xlaan, yes, if it's a German, Danish or whatever game then that's probably true, but there are also (for me at least with the European ROMs) numerous games that are a European game but don't specify exactly which languages are in it and Europe alone doesn't say much (but don't get me wrong, I don't want to hate No Intro or anything like that, I just noticed it)
