also should I restore my clean nand but at this point i dont think it will do anything since its been 3 months, and is there a way to see the newest ban waves?

At this point I would leave it. They’ve already logged everything they’re going to log. Cleaning everything makes it look more suspicious. Your timestamps in your log files would jump around which is another potential red flag. The more wiggling the fly does the more alert vibrations that are sent to the spider. IMO you should let whatever they can see just fade into the background and hope for the best.

Pop on over to @Draxzelex ’s Switch Banning Hub . It is a captivating read to say the least.

Can anyone share some info on how the MK8D booster courses can be installed?

I'm assuming there's a game update nsp, and a DLC.NSP to install to 'unlock' the new courses?

Or, is it a game update and a cheat code? Any info would be helpful!

it depends, dlc can have unlocker, just small file to unlock content inside the main game. Another thing would be seperate larger file for dlc content.

The pass is available for a one-time purchase of $24.99 USD, or as a complimentary feature of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. The courses are not locked in the game's online mode, as anyone with a copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe can play with those racing in the new cups.

Players can download the 2.0 update by connecting the Nintendo Switchto the internet and downloading the latest software update when prompted.

The 2.0 update is required in order to play the new courses. As of the time of this writing, players who attempt to race in one of the new courses will be met with a prompt reminding them that they need to have either purchased the pass or have an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. However, we expect this to go away with time.

To me it looks like it will be a separate update but either way it’s “unlocked” in 2.0.

I haven’t done this myself but the plan looks solid: https://gbatemp.net/threads/extract-save-from-nand-backup.514261/
So I actually found the save dir, but how they were packaged was unclear, so I didn't know how to actually restore my saves this way.

But coincidentally, today I learned. If you do a Pokemon or other save file transfer to a new console, it seemingly does not delete your save on the original console.

After I migrated my Pokemon saves to the new Switch, I went back to the old one, did a checkpoint "Backup all". Then, I started new games on each Pokemon game (in order to have a reference their save entry in Checkpoint) -- and noticed that all of a sudden, I already have a backup for every game. Turns out, Checkpoint found the original saves and backed them up -- and I could restore them.

Nice! Dodged a bullet and came back to let us know what worked. Thanks for sharing. Very cool.

I want to play some mods I found in gamebanana for switch games, my console is already modded, but I don't have an idea if emuMMC can run mods.
I know the "easy" way to play them is via ryujynx but I want to use my actual console.
there's any guide I can follow or some documentation I should read?

Emunand isn‘t really a factor for playing mods on your system. Many of the GB mods will “just work”, but it depends on the game.

I’ve had great success using SimpleModManager.

How to use ?
- Put the .nro file in your SDcard's "/switch/" folder
- At the root of your SDcard, create a "/mods/" folder
- Place your mod with the following tree structure : "/mods/<NameOfTheGame>/<NameOfTheMod>/<ModTreeStructureFromAtmosphereFolder>"
Example :
"/mods/The Legend of Zelda - Breath of the Wild/First Person View/contents/01007EF00011E000/romfs/Actor/Pack/GameRomCamera.sbactorpack"
- Run the homebrew

Hi I have a question.

So I have a cfw switch which is separated between a emummc and the original fw.

I use the emummc for offline games an official fw for online gaming so I don't get banned and it's working so far so good.

I got a physical copy of mario kart 8. So the question is can I download the pirated dlc and play it on the emummc without getting banned?

I don't know how it exactly works with like savefiles when I play the pirated dlc on my emummc and switch to play online on my original fw. Is this something nintendo can see and may ban me?

The answer to your first question is yes. The reason is because the save files are stored in the console's internal memory. Both sysMMC & emuMMC have their own internal memory; they don't share that or anything else except the hardware they are used on.

Absolutely.

  • Rip the game cart with NXDumptool and install it on your emunand with your installer of choice (tinfoil, DBI, Tinwoo, whatever). Then install your DLC backup on your emunand and you’re good to go. As long as you don’t play online with emunand you’re safe.
  • Play your legit game cart and download legit updates on Sysnand and you’re good to play online.

They are essentially two different machines with two different storage systems and thus two different save files.

Yes, most if not all modern title manages have USB support.

The way in which we boot CFW will not change for a long time if ever because the exploit used is incredibly poweful and unpatchable via software. However SX OS hasn't received an update for about 2 years now so its safe to say they are dead & never coming back. This means you can only use SX OS up to firmware 11.0. I recommend switching to Atmosphere as newer games and content will require higher firmware versions. Setting up Atmosphere is about as simple as setting up SX OS; SX OS uses Atmosphere's source code after all.
Gonna make the change to Atmosphere today really want to give new Mario Kart courses a play.

Couple of questions first

1. Should i update to the latest firmware available first using ChoiD then do switch to Atmosphere

2. Provided i am not banned does Atmosphere allow me to play online?

Thanks

  1. Don't use ChoiDujourNX to update your firmware. It hasn't been updated for a long time and there is a newer homebrew app called Daybreak which comes bundled with Atmosphere. That being said, you don't have to update your firmware in order to switch to Atmosphere. You should only ever update your firmware when a game or other content absolutely requires a higher firmware
  2. CFW are one of the reasons people get banned. Its impossible for there to be a CFW that allows you to play online

So if i want to play online, I need to boot up in normal mode on switch and use it online that way instead?

Also Chodujour was easy the last time I tried it. Is Daybreak as easy to use?

Thanks

The only way to safely go online is to never use CFW/homebrew. If you have ever booted CFW/homebrew but want to go online, you will have to restore a clean eMMC backup that was made before ever running CFW/homebrew.

I said ChoiDujourNX, not ChoiDujour. ChoiDujour is a PC program that has similar capabilities to ChoiDujourNX but is not easy to use. Anyways, Daybreak is about as easy to use as ChoiDujourNX.

Ok Thanks

I have come across a video that shows you how to migrate from SXOS to Atmosphere but it says it depends the upgrade path is dependent on whether I am updating from with Emunand or without. How do I check which applies to me?

Thanks
