Are there any reliable OLED switch modchip installers in North America? Would like an estimate on how much this will cost.

Hard modders got cease and desist order from Nintendo so you won't find someone going public about they offering service, go to your local electronic repair shop.

Awesome! From the threads I was reading it sounds like the main dev is taking a break so all the errata for newer libnx is in the PRs. Glad you hacked and slashed your way through!
hey so my nro file looked more simple than the picture you attached, i figured out that it was cuz i was using the legacy branch.
so i tried building using the main branch and while i get an nro file, it looks half messed up, some parts are in russian and the sidebar items after settings show blank pages.

is your nro also like this? if not can you attach a zip of the project folder or send it to me?

here is a video of what my compiled nro looks like:

demo nro

Mine didn’t have the scroll test and such. Seems there more to do on my end as well.

My project file is the result of:

I just retuned to modding the nintendo switch and I have a nintendo switch lite so I was wondering how do you mod it not exactly how I get the hardware part but not the software I know that the hwfly chip has to be installed but what about the software part do I use hekate and wich cfw do I install at all since from what I know any SX OS downlaod links are gone

Atmosphere is what all the cool kids are doing!

Start here: https://rentry.co/SwitchHackingIsEasy

Come back if you have Qs.

So I've been trying to follow the rentry SwitchHackingIsEasy guide as best I can, but I've ran into my first hurdle.

As you can see in this screenshot HERE, whenever I attempt to Inject the payload, it states I should launch into Hekate. However, the Switch screen is still completely blank. Whenever I click 'inject payload', TegraRcmGUI closes and relaunches.

The next step in the guide is to select the Tools tab, then select 'Partition SD Card' but I'm unable to find this option. Does it mean using TegraRcmGUI? If so, these are the only Tools options available in this link HERE

My SD Card has been formatted to FAT32 and all the necessary files have been extracted to the ROOT of the SD Card as shown HERE.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

which payload are you injecting…the screenshot doesn’t show. once you inject the proper payload it will boot you into Hekate.

  • Go back to TegraRcmGUI, go to the Payload tab, press the folder icon, go to the folder named Hekate that you made, and pick the file named hekate_ctcaer_x.x.x.bin.

Ignore tools in TegraRCM. Hekate has a built in partitioning tool. We need to get past the previous hurdle to get there.

Looks good on its face. Let’s get you booted into Hekate.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
You bet!

I was exploring DBI and navigated to a game installed on the SD card in my switch where I saw the /logo partition.

/logo is a Pfs0 partition so it’s unencrypted but it’s read only in DBI. Is there setting in DBI or another tool out there that is able to read/write over the two files in there or is extraction and repacking my only option?

Logo

Contains the logo gfx displayed when an application is booted. Doesn't include the "Licensed" gfx.

  • "/NintendoLogo.png" Nintendo logo displayed in the top-left of the screen.
  • "/StartupMovie.gif" Nintendo Switch animation displayed in the bottom-right of the screen.

Wow! Thank you Sir. I was not expecting a response so darn quickly!

So, I used TegraRcmGUI to browse to the following payload: C:\User\asdf\Desktop\Hekate\hekate_ctcaer_5.7.0_Nyx_1.2.0\hekate_ctcaer_5.7.0.bin

Ignore tools in TegraRCM. Hekate has a built in partitioning tool. We need to get past the previous hurdle to get there.

That's what I originally had thought since there was no partitioning tool to be found using TegraRCM. For whatever reason though, whenever I clicked 'Inject Payload', TegraRCM would close, and then re-open, but the screen on the Switch was still completely blank. Whenever I attempted to touch the Switch screen, it remains completely blank.

It sounds like I'm on the right tracks though. It's late here in the UK, so tomorrow, I'll give it another shot, and if I'm still struggling, I'll reformat the SD and start from scratch. If I'm still having issues, I'll report back.

Thanks again for all the help kind sir!

UPDATE: So I tried it one last night, TegraRCM says invoking, then after a few seconds, closes and reloads back to it's original status of 'RCM Device Detected'. At this point, should Hekate appear on the Switch? Do I need to do anything to access the Hekate menu on the Switch?

You’re doing all the right moves. the switch should start Hekate right away. literally less than a second.

Let’s reset some things:

1) Reboot windows, cause…windows.
2) Press the power button on your switch and hold it down for 15 seconds. It should turn off completely.
3) Use your jig to get back to RCM mode and try injecting Hekate again.

edit: might want to try another cable and download Hekate and TegraRCM again.
edit2: you are certain your switch is unpatched, correct?

It appears I'm getting further in my troubleshooting. The portable version of TegraRcmGUI seemed to work rather than the standalone .exe file.

Now, whenever I attempt to inject the Hekate payload, I get the following error message on the Switch screen

'Missing LP0 (sleep mode) library!

Missing or old minerva library!

Update your boot loader folder!'

Tomorrow, once I get home from work, I'll simply format the SD Card, redownload everything and follow the guide again word for word. Hopefully, that will help me get passed my current issue. The main thing is I'm slowly making progress.

Thanks again for all your help. I'll be sure to report back tomorrow.

sup, I got a question about the whole CFW ban criteria: If I use Atmosphere on sysNAND to use the various plugins, can I go online with them? More specifically, I'd like to use my PS4 controller to play shooters instead of the Switch controller. I legally own the games, so It's all about running plugins and going online on a clean NAND with CFW. Thanks in advance!

There is a sticky thread right next to this one where you can find specific ban scenarios. You’ll find folks that say they got banned for thinking about Mario while running CFW and folks that say they‘ve been running full tilt buck booty naked on the Internet for the past 4 years and never had a problem. Plug-ins are less likely to get you banned than running arrrr-ware or cheating online but they are not completely without risk. What Ninty let’s pass today, they might not tomorrow. You will have to assess the risk/reward and make your own choice.

edit: well, apparently I’m a dick. That or somebody unstickied the ban hub post.

Here it is: https://gbatemp.net/threads/nintendo-switch-banning-hub-warning.508710/

it’s an interesting read, even if you’re clean and not worried about banning, just to see what people are thinking and doing about the cat and mouse game.

In aim to install hakate instead to boot.dat

I understand that I must bring the hakate file and convert it here
https://sx-boot-dat-creator.herokuapp.com/

But what then? Should I put it in the SD and that's it?
make sure it is precisely boot.dat…not boot.dat.html or anything else. But yeah, throw that in the root of your SD card and then the regular SXOS boot process that looks for boot.dat will find your new one and run it. Good luck!
