First of all: Thanks to the original team for starting this project und gathering information.
I wanted to look into inserting just the script into the rom and creating a barebones translation hack but unfortunaly you need to get permission to download the script from the google drive.
@TwistedZeon or anybody who downloaded the script before: Can you please re-share the script?

Edit: For further information see my thread: https://gbatemp.net/threads/disaster-report-3-zettai-zetsumei-toshi-3-translation.579788/

Edit 2: The thread I posted above was merged with this one. I'll continue to work on this together with part of the old team and some completely new members. See the post below for more information.

The Project is back in full motion!
After many years of near radio silence due to many factors I am proud to announce that this project is back in full swing.

We have now merged all of NocturnalMoon's efforts into this project and so from now on this is the main hub for everything relating to this project.

The project now has many things it needed now such as:
Variable-Width Font, Proper Text Insertion tools, Full image Replacement Tools, and even a full blown Re-translation on the old script.

We however are not without needing a little more help..
We are in need of another graphic artist who can help with translating text in images, you'll be provided with the translations.

All in all, I would like to thank those who have supported us over the years even during those rough times.. It means a lot to us all.

Update 1
So, years and years later it's finally happened.. We now have an english logo!

I have to admit I'm over the moon about how it looks, and I would hope so after it took me hours and learning both Gimp & Inkscape to achieve it! So I hope you all like it too!

We've completely revamped the main post. It now features the new logo, up-to-date information about the project,
brand new screenshots including our first showing of menu image replacement, and even a little Easter egg!

So from here on out please check the main post for new things about the project.

Thanks for offering your help. I was looking into subbing the cutscenes the last few days and got it to work yesterday. So right now we don't need any help with that but if a problem pops up I'll definitely contact you.

Update 2
So we are now proud to finally show off some of our menu translation work!

We have updated the main post with an image showing of some of the work I had done over the past week on menu image translation. While we try our best to stick as close to the original intended meanings and words, we just like any other translation project have hit limitations that we've had to work within. With that said though, we really think it's been coming along quite nicely!

With all this said and done, we would like to take this chance to once again set tempered expectations. While we have gotten lots done in this short time, it can't be like that always. While we will see this through to completion we would like to remind everyone we are just a small team and also need to take breaks to prevent burn out.

We very much appreciate everyone's support, as well as those that extend a hand to help us when we need it.

Hi!
You mentioned in your thread "We recently completed a full walkthrough with a rough draft of the script and resolved some problems along the way. So from a technical view the game is now fully playable with our hacks inserted".
Is this patch available? It would be great to be able to try it.
Thanks

The patch mentioned in my post was only for internal testing purposes and it was a really rough draft. Certainly enough to make the game playable but playing it this way really harms the overall experience.
So we decided to not publish any pre-releases of our work and while I can totally understand that you want to play the game even with an unfinished script we don't want to make such an early version publicly available.

Just take your time, when it's done it's done, like we have waited long years for the Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity, the God Eater 2 and others we surely will be eager to check it but we know we have to wait, so don't mind taking years, just don't lose hope and continue, show us something from time to time when you feel you need a feedback or needs any motivation to continue working on this project, I'm most sure that you might find some nice words to continue. I can't do much besides watching how the project goes and to show my support I'm always checking and liking comments. Thank you for continuing this project, this was one of my best experiences with the PSP's games and keep up the good work!

Update 3
A month has passed since the last update and I just wanted to let you know that we finished our translation of the dialogue.
We're very glad to have reached this milestone and while the script already is in a pretty good shape, there's still a lot of work to do before we consider it finished. Editing comes next and we plan to play through the game extensively to make sure we double check every line the game has to offer. We had lots of fun working on the script so far and I'm sure it shows.

Once again, thanks for your continued support. Knowing that there are people out there who are waiting patiently for our work and reading comments like the one from @Malckyor really motivates us to make this patch as best we can.

Absolutely thrilled to see you still giving your all to make this a reality. A project like this, especially with branching dialogue options and numerous characters routes, makes for a hefty undertaking. Especially so when any roadblocks pop up along the way. but look at you! You're giving this one heck of a go, and it's turning out beautifully based on those screenshots alone.

Extremely proud of you fine folks for continuing to persist during a hectic time with a massive undertaking. You are remarkable! Keep on taking great care of yourselves, you're working hard to turn your dream into a reality. It's already taking shape, and the light at the end of the tunnel is getting closer and closer.

Almost three months now and I can't find a proper way to answer to this, I'm very glad that my words keeps you motivated to continue working on this. I'm very grateful for you guys to work on this project.

Anyway, I would like to say that I'm always checking the translation projects, so whenever someone post here, I'll always check. Keep up the good work and remember: be excelent to each other! xD

It's awesome to see people supporting our efforts and waiting patiently for the result. I really appreciate every message we get!
The project is progressing very well and I'm really satisfied about all of the problems we tackled and solved in the past few weeks. As expected, we had to deal with some minor issues but no major problems popped up since the last update post.

I don't think the time has come to announce a release window yet but we will let you know when we feel comfortable about communicating an estimate.

I'm glad to see that you haven't given up on the project! I wanted to test the first version but I didn't know where to find it xD
So I'll be waiting for the overhaul.
Good luck :D

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

    I dread the price point.

This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150
