Homebrew Not64 in WiiFlow not launching N64 roms

Loaded Not64 emulator with roms. All launch properly from Homebrew.

For WiiFlow I:

1.) Edited the plugin file: sd:\wiiflow\plugins\not64.ini

2.) Copied over my boot.dol file from sd:\apps\not64 to sd:\wiiflow\plugins\ and renamed it to "not64.dol"
3.) Created the "not64" coverfolder in sd:\wiiflow\boxcovers and put png's named properly in there
4.) Uploaded roms to romdir (zip format)

WiiFlow starts up fine, Not64 roms with boxcovers display fine... However, launching a rom just hangs in a blackscreen. The roms work in Homebrew so its not the roms nor the emulator. What am I missing that's causing WiiFlow to choke up?

I checked my ini file and is configured like yours so not sure what is the problem
The main differences on my config are that I got my roms on wii64/roms though and they are uncompressed (because wii64 cannot read zipped files)

Finally got it to work. There was a typo in my not64.dol file name so the ini never saw it.
It’s always something easy!

Addendum: I’m still on WiiFlow 4, set up around 8 years ago. I’m looking to increase compatibility with N64 games, and I hear Not64 is the way to go.

The last working not64 plugin is from 4.5 years ago. I've tried with the latest not64 build, but it won't auto-boot the games.

Thanks. Do you know the latest working build? I’m on Wii64 from about 8 years ago. I’d assume the Not64 build is better. I’m getting textures not loading correctly in Banjo-Kazooie.

That's not a texture loading problem. It's a pixel shader generation problem.

in any case, I think you should update to Wiiflow Lite, Wiiflow 4 is really old.
The Not64 plugin is based on an old version from 2016, here it is
At the moment it's the only working plugin for N64. Wii64 is not working, too.
I'm no particular expert on N64 emulation, but I believe that you need both Not64 and Wii64, depending on the games.
With Wiiflow you can only use an old not64 build, so it's best to use the regular emulators.

I’m hesitant to upgrade. Everything is working perfectly at the moment, with the exception of Banjo. I also use Dios Mio and the Source menu. Is there anything large that I’m missing out on by not being on v5?

Have you tried going just one release back instead of using 4.5 years old garbage?

The only issue is that it won't autoboot the games in wiiflow, but gives this error message instead:
Error opening directory "usb:/not64/roms"
If I manually load a game it works.
I still have to try the other recent builds, I thought that they weren't working as well, without some modification at source level.
I'll try as soon as possible

Ok, I've tried a couple of versions and they all work. Only the latest one (June 9 2020) is failing to auto-boot the games in wiiflow.
So the most recent working build for Wiiflow is June 5 2020.
The only weirdness is that after you quit and return to Wiiflow, it will automatically open the home menu instead of the covers (like when you press the Home button in the cover view). It's the only plugin that behaves this way, so I'm not sure if it's because of Not64 or if it's a Wiiflow issue. However, a really small issue, you're doing a wonderful work with Not64 and it's really nice to have it updated and working in Wiiflow!
Thanks for your advice, I don't know why exactly I have not tried it before. Too many plugin tests recently and I went haywire.

Were you using a Wii Classic Controller? Not64 uses the Wii Classic Controller's 8-bit analog mode.

yes it only happens with the classic controller

No, it's just a straight connection with 3.3V to 3.3V, data to data, and ground to ground.

And how are you gonna plug it in without an adapter?
How do the C-buttons work with that? Since the GC controller has an analog C-stick.
