Hello, Jayro,
I just found out Medicat.
English is not my mother tongue, so it is not easy for me to express what I really think. However, I will try.
The tool you have made is a marvel.
It's not so much the amount of programs that impresses me, but the ease of use. You can add more programs, that's one thing. But as soon as it is possible to add bootables .iso with extreme ease (and in any environment please!) it becomes totally extraordinary.
Of course, you made this tool, first of all I think, for your professional activity.
How many hours did you spend to make it? a lot...
But to have the generosity to give all this to the whole world without asking for anything in return is really extraordinary.
Ah yes, the EFI should be at the beginning... I can guarantee you that this is the least of my worries !
THANKS!

Thanks again @Jayro I really appreciate your work. I wish I could buy you a coffee but I'm broke ;(

I am proud to seed MediCat from New Zealand on our Gigabit fibre.

One quick question, is there an easier way to find out when a new release is up to update my deluge client?

Thank you, and this re-write of MediCat took me an entire weekend with only a few hours rest for sleep and restroom breaks. I'll work on MediCat for maybe 3 to 7 hours in a sitting, easily. It's a passion project that I always keep on me in my pocket. So it will always be free. And my only concern with putting the EFI partition at the beginning is losing the ability to upgrade Ventoy using Ventoy's installer/updater. So if anybody can tell me how to move the partitions around and have the Ventoy installer/updater still see it, I'm open to your teachings. :grog:

Please @Jayro I need a little help. I had discharged in Google Drive your files for Medicat USB. But to create ImageUSB it's needed a .IMG , .BIN or .ISO. No some files are descompressed... Only MediCat USB-20200807T085247Z-001.zip, and medicat.2008.7z.00.... etc (from 2 to 7). Can you send me another instruction to get the correct files?

You need to open 001, and extract the .img file out to your desktop (or wherever you want). But only .001, because the rest will extract by themselves. Use 7-zip for this, you can get it from 7-zip.org

thank you very much @Jayro, not having done the 20.07, I am doing this one ! :yay: xo :shy:

EDIT : for all those who would like to extend the partition of their key so as not to have unallocated space for iso, use Eassos DiskGenius (sorry for my very average english)

you can add them in the '\System\Drivers\' folder (it's the partition with all the iso and portable apps)
Do you mean : just create a '\System\Drivers\' folder in the visible partition ?
And copy in it a zip file containing the drivers retrived by a DISM command ?

Has to be unzipped, but you can use subfolders. (.inf, .sys, .dat, .cat, etc)

Hello!
After making some changes (adding and removing some programs/.iso) in the key I want to make a new image file.
To do this, the tool 'imageUSB by PassMark Software' seems the most adapted.
But after selecting the option (create image from USB drive') the only type of file I can create is a .bin. In other words it's not an .img file.
Does it matter?
Well thanks, D.

I did the same and notice the saved file is .bin.
I use the bin file and seem no trouble to recreate to another USB drive.

Thank you @Jayro. I got it : the Drivers folder is on the first, masked partition.
Is there a way to expand this partition with the avaible space of the USB ?

you need MiniTool Partition Wizard Enterprise (it's in Portable Apps folder) to move EFI partition on the right end, then expand Medicat partition

regards

I personally use the DD command in Linux to make my images, as they come out trimmed to just the partitions, without the extra wasted empty space.

That's a good ideal. But usually I keep some spare capacity in partition and add utilities I needed on top of original creation. So I want to save it and able to recreate it again without tracing back what changed I have made to it. (took me a while to move from what I made in v19.10 and do the same to v20.08).

I use the minitool partition app from your excellent V20.08 to extend the MEDICAT partition and shrink and format the other one, on my Pen drive.
Works beautiful!
Thank you Jayro for the nice work!

Found one strange symptom when booting to Mini_Windows_10.iso
This happen to 2 out of 3 PC (1 desktop PC with I5,8G, Thinkpad T450 8G), Old Acer i5 PC works well.
When boot into mini_windows_10.iso, I get funny raster pattern on screen, waited for 10-15 min seem boot to mini win10 is unsuccessful. (all PC/Notebook is share graphic display).

However, if I choose to use F1 memdisk and boot to mini_windows_10.iso. All PC works fine.
