Ok,your Softmod and USBLoader GX is up to Date.:)

Can you try a HDD please ? Maybe your USB Stick is not 100 Percent working with USBLoader GX.By the Way this is unfortunately a well known Issue.:(

or

You can try an alternative USBLoader like WiiFlow or Configurable USBLoader if you want to keep your USB Stick or do not have an HDD.:)

https://github.com/Fledge68/WiiFlow_Lite/releases

https://wiidatabase.de/downloads/usb-und-disk-loader/configurable-usb-loader-mod/

I will try the Games for you, maybe they need a little "adjustement" in USBLoader GX.
Please be patient,it takes a little Time.:)

Thank you.:)
Could I use an SSD 1TB instead ?

Hello.:)

First the "Report" on your Games:

R3RE8P - Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing
SF8E01 - Donkey Kong Country Returns

Both Games works with USBLoader GX without any Changes of the Settings.

P1060798.JPG P1060799.JPG P1060800.JPG P1060801.JPG P1060802.JPG P1060803.JPG P1060804.JPG P1060805.JPG P1060806.JPG P1060807.JPG P1060808.JPG P1060809.JPG P1060810.JPG P1060811.JPG P1060812.JPG

Also on WiiFlow v5.2.0 and Configurable USBLoader Mod v70 r78.11.
You can try to use IOS250 for the Games Loading.Maybe this works for you.

Please verify your ISO´s/Games,maybe they are not ok.

Please use a Tool like this:
http://esrg.sourceforge.net/utils_win_up/md5sum/

to verifiy MD5 or CRC-32 Checksum of your Games and please compare it with them:

https://www.gametdb.com/Wii/SF8E01
https://www.gametdb.com/Wii/R3RE8P

The Checksums are at the Bottom of the Page(s).:)

If your Games are verified and ok,then maybe your USB Stick is maybe really not compatible...
Then you better try a HDD.

Yes,you can use IDE/SATA/SSD Drives.
1 TB is very good.:)

Good Luck.
Thank you.:)

If I change the Games iOS in USBLOADER GX, do I run the risk of corrupting my USB?

Hello.:)

No worries.
You change only the Loading IOS for the Game not more.:)

You can try Slot 248/249/250/251.
That is why you can change the cIOS for any of these Slots with d2x cIOS Installer.
Today with the actual USBLoader GX/WiiFlow/Configurable USBLoader MOD,cIOS 249[57] d2x v8/v10 and/or 250[56] d2x v8/10 works for most of the Games.
If you want to experiment with them you can install some other Versions to Slot 248 and 251.

For Example:

IOS248[57] (rev 21, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, NAND Zugriff, USB 2.0
IOS249[57] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, NAND Zugriff, USB 2.0
IOS250[56] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, NAND Zugriff, USB 2.0
IOS251[56] (rev 21, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Zugriff, USB 2.0

With such an Setup you can make near 99 Percent of the Wii Games with maybe any USB Device with one of the 3 USBLoaders working.:D
But it is NOT NECESSARY.

Thank you.:)

You can also try to change the USBLoader GX´s LOADER´S IOS from 58 to 249.
This is the IOS where the USBLOADER is starting/Loading.

P1060823.jpg

Maybe
your USB Stick works with this Setting.
USBLoader GX Settings - Global Settings - Loader Settings - Loader´s IOS (58 or 249)

The Game´s IOS is,as the Name says, for loading the Games.

How can I completely remove the softmod. I'd like to do the process all over again. I think I did something wrong during the process. I remember that when I first did the letterbomb process , I only installed the Homebrew Channel and I didn't install bootmii.

Hello.:)

You do not need to remove all.:)

- do the LETTERBOMB with the HackMi Installer on an fresh formatted SD Card again and install Bootmii as IOS.I think boot2 is not possible on your Wii (Hardware Revision).
- then you can do a sysCheck again and use it on ModMii to see if anything has to updated.

Thank you.:)

I am having basically the same problem as everyone else here: my USB Loader GX detects my drive and my games, but when I try to load them the screen goes black and I restart my Wii.

What I'm working with:
1) 64 GB NTFS flashdrive (my other Wii can successfully run games from this)
2) cIOS 249 base 56 v10
3) cIOS 250 base 57 v10
4) I have 23 games, including SSB Brawl, Mario party 9, and Wii party

I've tried Wiiflow and it did not work either.

I apologize for bringing this issue to you guys since I know that so many people have done so before me. Frankly, I've tried reading other threads and applying those tips but I have had no luck.

Hello.:)

Welcome to the USB Flashdrive/Stick/Pen Drive/Thumb Drive Club.:)

It is really recommended today to use a HDD.
Actual USB Flashdrive/Stick/Pen Drive/Thumb Drives seems to have really Troubles to work with actual USBLoaders.

But fortunately, you can check some Things before you get an HDD:

- Please use Actual Versions of the USBLoaders: for USBLoader GX -> v3.0 r1272 / WiiFLow --> v5.2.0 / Configurable USBLoader MOD --> v70 r78.11
- The USB Device is formatted with FAT32
- One Partition
- The Games where transferred with the WiiBackupManager
- Connected to the correct Port 0
728px-Wii-USB-port.jpg

- The Wii´s Softmod uses this Configuration (it is really recommended for USB Flashdrive/Stick/Pen Drive/Thumb Drive !!).
IOS249[57] (rev 21008 Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug NAND Access
IOS250[56] (rev 21008 Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug NAND Access
- maybe better use an OLDER Modell of Flashdrive/Stick/Pen Drive/Thumb Drive (2-3 Years or older)

Good Luck.
Thank you.:)

The NTFS flashdrive worked on the other Wii. I find it odd that it would be a problem for this one.
Also I was using the correct USB port
and I was using a drive with one partition.

my cIOS is now 249 base 56 v8 revision 21008 and I have 250 base 57 v8 revision 21008

I formatted the flash drive wbfs using wbfs manager which I don't like using but now games work. I still want to find a way to use the flash drive in NTFS format on this Wii. I know that wbfs manager doesnt take .wbfs files which is a pain for me because all my games are .wbfs

The WBFS Games/File Format works on all 3 File System Formats.:)

- WBFS with the WBFS Manager - NOT RECOMMENDED,it has a serious Bug in the C Source Code Library LIBWBFS !!
- NTFS - USB Sticks maybe have Issues with USBLoaders.
- FAT32 - This is recommended on ALL Three USBLoaders.

To avoid Issues and Troubles, please use ALWAYS the WiiBackupManager for the Game Transfers.
It makes an WBFS File of your Game ISO and removes all unnecessary Parts like Update Partitions.
It has the Advantage that Games are installed in their "real" Size, in most cases smaller than 4.5 GB

Thank you.:)

I don't think this Wii works with NTFS. How can I get a fat32 drive?

Here you can download the FAT32 GUI Formatter:
https://gbatemp.net/download/gui-format.33869/

You can make again ISO Files from your existing WBFS Files with the WiiBackupManager.:)
You can copy it to an HDD on your PC.Then format the USB Stick with the GUi Formatter and
Re-"install" the ISO Games again with the WiiBackupManager to your FAT32 USB Stick.

But please remember,it is a 50:50 Percent Chance that your USB Stick IS WORKING now with USBLoader GX or WiiFlow.

Good Luck.
Thank you.:)

I just added a fat32 partition to the flash drive. now I have fat32 and wbfs partitions. onto the fat32 partition I put a game using Wii backup manager and on the wbfs partition I put a game using wbfs manager. both games worked. now I just want to find a way to make the fat32 volume larger. so far, when I try to make the whole drive fat32 I am unable to.

my main goal now is to format the whole drive to fat32

I got it! using a third party file software called aomei partition assistant I was able to format the drive to fat32!

I was gonna recommend aomei partition that way you dont lose your files when going back from ntfs to fat32. I reluctantly went back to fat32 myself,...but the 4gb file size limit is the only issue i had. I used WiiBackupManager to split my larger games (SSB Brawl and others) into 4Gb pieces.

I use WiiFlow religiously with the same cIOS's you do, and now I dont have black-screen issues anymore!
