Help on my Switch Lite, analog sticks not working!

Not sure if this is the right place to ask

So I gambled on a "defective" Switch Lite in a marketplace

According to the seller:
  • All components are working; the unit is in "working condition"
  • The unit is already modchipped with Picofly
  • It lacks a power/volume ribbon flex
  • Both analog sticks don't work, but L3/R3 is working properly
I bought it because the "condition" of the Switch Lite doesn't sound bad.
So I added a new power/volume ribbon flex; it works flawlessly.

Installed Hekate, installed the emuMMC, then booted up Atmosphere/emuMMC. I tried to calibrate the analog sticks, but it wasn't detecting any tilts, so I replaced both with KSILVER hall-effect analog sticks to no avail.

I tried finding any homebrew app that displays the analog sticks, so I went with PPSSPP, checked the analog settings, and both analog sticks were unresponsive to any movement at all.

I tried to look everywhere on the internet, and this video is the only reported (unresolved) issue I found that is similar to my case.

Does anyone know what the root cause of this is? Thx!
 
Since both your analog sticks don't work, it is likely that something is wrong with the chip that converts the analog signals to digital signals.

Maybe check in this area if there is damage/ scratches/ knocked off components.
If your buttons are working, presume the chip itself is working.

For converting signals from analog to digital, a reference voltage is needed by the STM32F038C6 chip.
It seems to be shared with the audio IC on the other side of the board and that needs a VRef of 1.8V.
I could not find where it comes from because it goes under the ALC5639.
If the audio was working, then presume that the component that generates the 1.8v is working.
If the audiio also does not work, maybe check if all components near the ALC chip are present.

Thank's for the reply, very helpful info!

I'm not home right now (I can't check my Switch Lite rn) but all digital buttons work properly, and both speakers/audio are functional.

Did it have water damage?
This looks a bit corroded between the capacitors and the pins.

Maybe a good clean with IPA alcohol might solve your issue.

Maybe this is just dust on those 3 pins in the corner,
Also check out the big capacitor.
That area looks strange but I don't know if that is coming from the capacitor.

Sorry for the bad quality photos, it might've over sharpened some aspects of it.

I can't confirm if the SMDs near the STM32F038C6 have corrosion or not but I now have access to a multimeter, I can check if the 1.8v reading is present or not later.

Can I ask if there are specs for the three SMDs? (like the Switch V1/V2 here https://gbatemp.net/threads/compone...stly-the-motherboard-and-main-console.525026/)

The 3 pins on the ALC5639 absolutely looks fucked, I'll check it later if it's just dust or not.
