Gotcha.

Ok, I've downloaded everything you recommended and am ready to move the files to the card. One question though; regarding the patches and putting them on the card, do I leave the patches in their respective folder/subfolders and just move the root "atmosphere" folder straight to the root of the SD card, or do I place the subfolders/contents into specific places on the card?
Just move the atmosphere folder to the root of the SD card. Everything is already where it needs to be.

I tried earlier to unlock my switch, I used atmosphere

I did everything right(i hope), put jig, got in RCM mode, injected payload using TetraRCMGui using Hekate.

first thing that i did after Hekate appeared, I did NAND Backup (battery was 100% by the time), after 70 minutes, it was finished, my battery was 85%.
then, I activated autoRCM, then launched atmosphere, after seeing that worked. i just turned off the console.

I put some files into SD card, but when I tried to inject payload again, it was not recognized in RCM or anything.

so, it does not turn on, and I cant inject payload.

can someone help me, please ?

  1. Disconnect the Switch from the computer.
  2. Hit the power button once.
  3. Hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  4. Plug the Switch into the computer.
With AutoRCM installed, your Switch is going to coldboot into RCM. If you leave it in RCM, the battery will drain. It should always be left in sleep mode when it's not being used.

Just wanted to say thanks for your help. Did exactly what you recommended and I got Mario Kart to install and it loaded up. Haven't fully tested it yet, but all appears to be well outside the fact that I'm gonna need a bigger memory card.

When I do get a different card, can I simply copy the contents of one card to the newer one and move forward like nothing changed, or will my current stuff like RetroArch and Mario Kart actually need to be reinstalled?

Any way to install large NSPs to fat32 SDcard with SXOS? I have SysNand 4.1 and EmuNand 8.1... i do not believe exFat is supported by my switch...

If not, can I make it support exFat without updating sysnand beyond 4.1?

You can copy and paste the contents of the old SD to the new SD. I recommend formatting the new SD as FAT32 before doing so.

You have several options:
  1. Split your NSP files
  2. Install NSP files that are on your computer (or USB HDD with SX OS) over USB or FTP
  3. (not recommended, since FAT32 is more stable) Install exFAT support using ChoiDujourNX, which doesn't require you to update your system version

So there is no other way to just play xsi files without installing them other than sx os?
Is there any way to transfer files to the switch without pulling the sd out? like ftp or something similar?

If you want to play game backups without SX OS, you must install them. You can install NSP files or XCI files, but it has to be installed.

There is no real advantage of using XCI files with SX OS.

Yes, you can use FTP with the Switch to transfer files to and from the SD card.

That's quite the price difference. I personally don't think the extra $150 is worth it for an unpatched unit, but unpatched systems are recommended.

If the patched system is on 4.1.0 and has never connected to the internet, then it should be fully hackable. If you are prone to make a lot of mistakes (i.e. Doing things that would brick your system, accidentally updating the sysNAND, accidentally connecting your sysNAND to the internet without PegaScape, etc.), then you should get an unpatched system.

Is there a list of all things someone shouldent do? Or are the ones you listed basically the only real concerns?

  1. You never want to update your sysNAND.
  2. You never want to connect your sysNAND to the internet without PegaScape DNS.
  3. You never want to make any modifications to your sysNAND.
That's about it. Aside from loading PegaScape, everything you do should be with your emuNAND(s).

I still highly recommend unpatched systems, but a patched system on 4.1.0 is fine if that's your only reasonable option.

Thank you Lacius. I followed all of your advice and now accessing EmuMMC is much simpler. However, after doing all you said Goldleaf was still giving me the same message. So i used tinfoil/ nut-exe to transfer the file and still nothing. However, nut-exe informed me that it could not properly communicate due to an error with the USB.
Long story short, it was the USB cable. The moment i replaced it with my cellphone's USB-C cable everything worked even goldleaf.

I bought the faulty USB-C cable from Amazon a few years ago. I didn't know that not all USB-C cables were created equal.

Thank you for taking the time to give me a hand!

(I'm using PegaScape/Atmosphere on an ipatched 4.1.0 Switch)

And here I am talking about my emuMMC saga again :/
Yesterday I was trying to create two emuNANDs, one to be clean (online play) and one to be dirty (homebrew)
I could create two raw images on two different partitions, but emuMMC simply didn't create config for RAW 2.

So I solved this by using another SD Card to store the clean emuNAND (probably there's a better workaround that someone knows about)
Then I initialized this NAND to remove Fake News (I don't know if this is the best method), but I was wondering if there's any problem if I boot the clean emuNAND in CFW mode (on Hekate). Ninty only verifies the Nintendo folder or they can detect that Atmosphere is running? (I don't think they can, but I prefer to ask rather than getting banned)

It is unlikely that you will be banned for merely running Atmosphere on your clean emuNAND. However, you should avoid homebrew when you're using your clean emuNAND.

I've updated the clean emuNAND and everything worked flawlessly, but an message popped up asking if the SD card should be formatted and I clicked on Delete (I thought that it wouldn't delete hekate and everything, and I was right)
Is there any trace on my SD card that it didn't format?
