Yoshi's Crafted World release date revealed

Fans of arts, crafts, and Yoshis will be delighted to know that Nintendo has revealed the launch date for the upcoming platformer, Yoshi's Crafted World. The latest Yoshi outing is slated to release on March 29th. There's also a new trailer to check out, which shows a group of Yoshi’s who must go on an adventure to defeat Baby Bowser and Kamek. New to this game is the ability to play a level backwards, letting you experience the stage from a completely new angle. Yoshi's Crafted World was initially revealed as a Nintendo Switch exclusive during E3 2017, with a 2018 release date which was later delayed to the date that we now know.

When you do take a hit, your star counter drops, and you need those stars for a perfect score in a stage. What do you do when you fight a boss and you take a hit? You don't get perfect score, ruin just cause of one mistake, meaning most of the time you have to avoid that. So you have to play super careful and in a game where almost everything tries to take the baby away from you.
Yes, you had to defeat the bosses without taking a hit – but at any other point in the game, you could use one of the Star power-ups from the Pause menu; they were easy to stockpile. And if you wanted an extra challenge, you could decide not to use them.

Now, Yoshi's Island DS – that was bullsh!t. It was like they were trying to duplicate the original Yoshi's Island, and it maybe had a couple of good ideas, but generally it was like they failed to grasp any concept of "fun". (I read a lot of criticism about moving in the gap between the top and bottom screens, but that was the very least of its problems.)

I started playing Yoshi's New Island and it seemed like more of the same. The original Yoshi's Island might have been a collect-a-thon, but it was a well-designed collect-a-thon with things in logical places, where you didn't necessarily have to scour every inch of the level a dozen times to find all the hidden whatsits. I mean, you could even find the red coins if you just looked closely enough – or use another powerup to reveal them completely.

On-rails shooter? You must have mistaken Panzer Dragoon to have Yoshi, there being dragons flying dinos and all.
That would be Yoshi's Safari, which required the Super Scope 6. Odd that it hasn't gotten a re-release; it would work fine with a touch screen or Wiimote, I would think.

On the 3ds they could even add gyro controls. They'd just have to add the game to the snes vc and add superscope functionality for either/both touch screen or gyro (even if that boss in that video looks like hell using gyro controls)

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol

So that version is semi rare
