BTW if you made a raw nand backup on a older FW & updated officially you may have burned your fuses. If you try restoring that nand backup its not going to work. You can’t downgrade from 6.1.0 to 5.10 if your fuses are burnt.

Your are wrong: You can not run OFW with lower version after burning fuses, but you can run CFW.
I was referring to restoring nand & burning fuses. Of course CFW works on any FW. But some ppl try to restore there nand but can’t do it due to burning fuses.

I guide I followed to create the nand dumb only told me to dump EMM Sys and EMM Rawnand so I don't have the boot 0/1 files to restore.
Trying to follow the guide to rebuild the boot0/1 areas and struggling with the keys and choidujour

To be precise, an older FW nand backup is not exactly useless.
You can still use it to recover from a corrupted NAND brick.

You can't boot older FW using the default bootloader, but if you use a bootloader that skips the fuse check (such as Hekate, or SX OS 1.2+), then you can boot it (but your sleep mode will be broken).

Using an alternate bootloader that skips the fuse check, even if you have too many burned fuses, you can still boot OFW if the bootloader supports it (e.g. by choosing "Stock" on Hekate), and of course you can boot CFW.

I've managed to recreate the boot0/1 using the guide. After following the guide the switch booted once with the nintendo splash and went blank. Someone else had the same problem and they fixed it by restore the rawnand.bin, so I'm currently restoring that in hopes that will finally fix the issues and allow the switch to at least boot in CFW via my SX Pro.
As long as I can get into CFW I can then update the firmware back to 6.1 and hopefully be able to boot normally into OFW.
I'll let you know how I get on.
Thanks for the help and advice so far.

I'm amazed!!! My switch is back from the dead :D:D:D:D:D
I was able to boot into a CFW from Hekate. Once I got there I used ChoidujourNX to update the firmware back to 6.1.
Once done, I was able to boot into SX OS, disable AutoRCM and now I'm able to boot into whether OFW or SX OS without having to use Hekate.
I'm so happy I got my switch back. I've probably lost of game saves but that not important compared to having a working Switch.
Thanks so much for all your help.

Gald to read that you avoided a brick. Don't forget to redo your backup (now on 6.1.0) so you'll avoid all these steps if something goes wrong again. BOOT0+BOOT1 and then your RAWNAND.

To show your appreciation you should take the time to write a step by step procedure for others with similar issues. Just sayin'.

You sir are one lucky bastard , good job you did that nand backup hey, unlike 90% of people lol.

Now what have we learnt, don't install dodgy assed NSP's without breathing and checking they're legit from now on ;)

My situation is unique because my Nand backup was not complete, it was missing the BOOT 0/1 files which means I had to following the guide to remake my BOOT 0/1 areas.
Anyone who has a properly made backup, with boot 0/1 and rawnand.bin will just be able to using Hekate to restore those files easily.
The hardest part was finding the correct keys.txt to use in the process, which I'm not allow to post there.

Very very lucky indeed. I was close to giving up but I knew it would not be able to get another patchable Switch easily and I've already spend money on games, pro controller, cases etc so I was determined to try everything.
Only scene releases for me and I will be avoiding NSPs wherever possible and be more patient too :-)

How come it is so easy to brick a system???
Now each install is going to be a leap of faith.
Whoever put this crap in the wild knows what he/she is doing. I dont think any amateur could make a malware like this one.
anyone can make something like this, you can literally find the brick code floating around and just make it appear like any game
