Hacking WiiU games and Nintendont on one drive?

It's been over a year since I was last on GBATemp. One of the few people I regularly played Wii and Wii U games with died, and it's taken me this long to get over it.
I remember someone mentioning that there was work to get the Wii U to recognize FAT32 drives so that a single external USB drive could be used for storing both Wii U games and Wii/GC games. Did anything come of that? If so, please point me to the right forums so I can get up to speed.

It can be time consuming if you have a lot of games. One game can take 30 min to an hour to convert. It's the only way you can have Wii U/Wii/GC on one hard drive otherwise you have to buy a seperate one for Wii/GC.

One it's done converting your iso/wbfs Wii or Gamecube you'll have a folder with .app files inside it. You then use WUP Installer GX to install it to your Wii U. https://sourceforge.net/projects/wup-installer-gx2/

I already use the WUP installer for something, and I'm a 24/7 live-in caregiver so this sounds right up my ally. I have plenty of time.
