Team-Xecuter is back again with yet another small news update, this time for their recently announced SX GEAR dongle

They are happy to inform those that pre-ordered will be getting it in their hands to enjoy soon, and at the same time they announced details on how you use the dongle to auto-inject any payload you wish on boot-up.

This week the early adopters of our SX Gear dongle should be getting their product in!

Most are early SX OS users who couldn't wait for SX Pro to start shipping but were quickly missing the convenience, ease of use and safety of the SX Pro Dongle and jig. SX Gear is fully compatible with SX OS. You can purchase a license separately, or use an existing SX OS license that you have and use the regular SX OS boot.dat file. You now own a SX Pro, in red color

Also, many Switch owners asked us for an official Team Xecuter product that will allow them to use other (opensource) payloads. Team Xecuter provides the best quality product and users know it is best to stick to the brand they trust to make sure they have a device they won't have to replace after 50 boots. Or worse, one that would damage their precious Switch.

SX Gear is Team Xecuter's solution for the opensource community. To use it with your favorite payload, simply download the SX Gear `boot.dat' file from our website. Place this `boot.dat' file in the root of your microSD card together with the `payload.bin' file of your choice and the payload will run as soon as you power on your switch!

Nope. We are talking about their new boot.dat which loads payload.bin from SD.
I gave you a way of converting payload.bin to boot.dat.
See that difference?

You can use it to load any payload. You can't use it to inject any payload.
No. You can't inject payload to SX dongles, unless you "disassemble" them and load it directly to the samd.

What? Nobody said anything about injecting anything.

Read TX’s own instructions:

Place this `boot.dat' file in the root of your microSD card together with the `payload.bin' file of your choice and the payload will run as soon as you power on your switch!

Follow those exact instructions with the SX Pro dongle. Works fine.

Anyway, "Keep an eye out for the upcoming SX OS v2.0!", the fact that they are teasing their next release witch was never done may mean 1) Its close, and 2) It might have some major function(s) added... Cant wait!

Easy, just don't open their threads, no need over think it, if it really bothering you, i suggest to install a plugin to mute or censore any of sx threads and replace them with any funny words.

The sad thing is that its prolly right. The site changes, i use the site cause of the new design on the phone much less then earlier. It feels much bulkier etc.

But this is my main source for homebrew etc. so yeah... I dont know, i somehow see this site much more as "bad" then before.

TX have also sold plenty, alot more than any other dongle. so you would exepct for a small percentage to be faulty, also anyone who has a problem with it not charging will make a post , but the vast majority are not going to make a post that theirs works.

I would rather have the caps than a cheap chinese battery.

A battery is easy to replace when dead. A capacitor is not for most. And i'm pretty sure the people that do buy these are in that category

Lol are you being serious ? If it was especially Chinese ones then you wouldn't be hearing those stories here that their dongle is broken because the capacitors died. Doesn't seem that reliable to me

You realise chances of LiPo batteries exploding (especially the cheap China kind because they don't use a proper LiPo controller) is more likely than caps breaking down right?
When a LiPo battery explodes it creates a huge explosion and fire. With a cap it's not a big deal.

There's a reason airplane regulation is looking at LiPo batteries with extreme caution and not even a hint of mentioning caps.

Also law of volume. Many people are using the SX Pro dongle and not many are using the LiPo based dongles yet. You can bet posts lamenting broken LiPo dongles are coming soon.
