Who knows. and at this point. Who cares. There are still going to be other means of getting things.
With the 11.8 update out, Nintendo is ready to just flip a switch and make FreeShop/Villain3DS/CIAngel and any other CDN downloaders unable to download from the CDN servers, thus they will no longer work.
So we'll have to start using actually identifiable information to authenticate to the servers, meaning bans, but that's not going to stop a lot of people.
Basically we have to either hope it somehow becomes possible to trick the CDN servers into recognizing fake tickets as real or only get games as CIAs from repositories to avoid getting flagged/banned. Now, you can get flagged if you try to download something from CDN without a valid legit ticket, but it's only for downloading.
Nintendo would have to completely rework the entire eShop system for the 3DS and setup a method (such as a required membership) in order to make it work. Nintendo has to be the one to break and it will have to cost them money to do so. Nintendo may have invested some money into the rest update, but a major overhaul of the 3DS eShop might not be something they are looking to invest into.
What's affected is basically just the downloading from CDN and just that. On a console, it can flag you if you don't have the legit ticket for what you are downloading, but downloading as CIA then installing with FBI doesn't pose any risks for now, meaning that Villain3DS is perfectly safe until the switch is flipped. That also means repositories with CIAs that aren't directly downloaded from CDN are completely unaffected and safe to use.
The 11.8 brought with it feedback FROM the console regarding tickets the moment you download something, so it's not really a need for overhaul, just a tiny bit of code change for the moment you try to download something (instead of checking whether you have the ticket, it will take feedback and verify whether it's valid before letting you download), so not exactly hard to implement.
But that's not the same as what I am saying. freeShop will continue to function so long as there's nothing preventing it from functioning. Yes, they brought the feature to check the ticket's, but they didn't fix the actual flaw itself that allows freeShop to function. Nintendo would have to rework the eShop itself to fix the flaw, they only updated to target people using the flaw.
No, the seed FBI injects isn't downloaded from the CDN but from a seed repository (or you can manually find a seed and import it so still no CDN), meaning it's safe to do. However, why even bother? CIAs already come with the seeds anyway, so there's no point in injecting the seed again with FBI.

Freeshop may still be accessible, but its best to stop using it banwise unless you are lazy to google search cia's or already have been banned

For now that CDN downloading with homebrews is still a thing, just get your CIAs from CIAngel, much easier, simpler and way less chance for them to be missing the seed, plus guaranteed to work great
Just use Villain3DS or CIAngel then, can't be flagged and until the switch is flipped they are 100% safe.
Yeah I'm going to replace freeshop with them both just the other day I went through the trouble of uninstalling freeshop games and it was a hassle getting them again since you need double storage space installing cia's via FBIFor now that CDN downloading with homebrews is still a thing, just get your CIAs from CIAngel, much easier, simpler and way less chance for them to be missing the seed, plus guaranteed to work great

Why uninstall them? It's only risky the moment you DOWNLOAD, not just having them.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better. -

I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
