The 'you have your cellphone' argument - a silly argument, who wants to string a cable off their phone, wire it up to the Switch, run some random app on the phone etc - requires the person to have a (rooted!) Android phone. Even ignoring iOS, not a whole lot of people are rooted these days...

And then there is everyone on iOS.

It's actually really easy and convenient, and it doesn't have to be rooted.

I asked in the other thread but I think this needs a bit if clarification.

Why are they using resellers for their CFW? I can understand the need for the Pro version but for the CFW only? Makes absolutely no sense to me, other than to laundry money but it leads back to them anyways.

TX does not sell directly. The CFW is not free but is available to people who have another way to run payloads. Authorized distributors handle consumer sales for TX.

That makes sense, sadly it also increases the price due to adding a middle man.

The Dongle is only $10 more so it sounds like it will be easily cloned/reversed, it also explains why they went with the DRM CFW route for quick cash before the eventual Atmosphere (and sig patched fork) release.

TX's dongle is just a nice payload launcher. Nothing stopping others from making their own. TX's goods have a reputation of high quality, they will sell units regardless of cheap alternatives.

Guys so if I want a noob friendly tether free way of homebrew launching and backup loading this is the best solution? (Imagine money not being a factor yes I know there will be free solutions but I didn’t mind gateway before and moving to CFW Luma etc later on)

i really wonder what it is using inside there that is so small ,smaller than pi zero and even smaller than arduino pro mini
this is probably what the warning about aliexpress and other Chinese sellers selling cheap clones was about
whatever it is if reports are to believed then it is not that easy to make since there was news that the 1st batch was bunk
