Hi i have managed to get this working on my original r4 card. But on boot it does not show the nds launch screen it will flash a screen which says loading then white then loading again then the game. Is there a way to fix this to get the nds launch screen or is it not possible on the old card?
Not possible, as the forwarder template is based on WoodR4.

Ok, when I try to load my roms, i am either stuck with a black screen on the top and a white screen on the bottom, or on the bottom screen a guru meditation error, which also displays what each register currently holds. I cant set Mario Kart as a donor, as it just gives me the Guru meditation error. Both results happen after a save file is created. IDK why its creating a save file tho, as i have some on the microsd in the card.

NVM i set the wrong target

An update for the SD card forwarder template is available. Please update the templates in Forwarder 3-DS.

Mario Kart DS now works with SD forwarders again!
Check Step 8 in Part 2 in the first post, on how to set it as donor ROM.

EDIT: No, this isn't an April Fools joke.

Thanks for the update! I had been checking back every week or so to see when a fix was submitted for the R4i-SDHC cards. Everything works great except for NDSi Enhanced games like Pokemon Black/White create a CIA that when installed has an all white icon and no text underneath. The size of it is also 0kb. If you try and launch it, it gives an error. All of my other games seem to work great with icon's and text on the channel showing up. In addition to the R4i-SDHC cards that I use on my 2ds's I also have a r4ids.cn card that I use on my 3ds and the games previously mentioned work just fine as forwarder channels. The text+icon show up as normal. Anyone have any insight as to what would cause this on my 2ds's?

Try shortening the filenames of your DSi-Enhanced games, and/or move the Forwarder3-DS folder to the hard drive root.

First of all @Robz8, thanks for the great tool!

I'm having a SC TWO card and since recently the utility/templates have been updated to be compatible again with the card I have.
Problem is that when i'm starting the game I end up in the startmenu.

As far as I can tell I followed the guide and all seemed to go as planned. CIAS are being made and I have installed them. What am I missing?

Thanks in advance!

Did you extract the flashcard pack?
If so, was "Automatically set ROM path" set, if you're using Windows?

Yes I did extract NDS Game Forwarder pack (SC DSTWO).7z into their designated locations and set the NDS Forwarder into "automatically set ROM path" mode and indeed, i'm using Windows.

I also randomly checked some files for the correct rom path.

Did you drag the ROMs that are on the SD card into Forwarder3-DS' window, not the PC's hard drive?

Yes that's what I did. I dragged them directly from the SD card to make sure it that the NDS forwarder is referring to the correct location. In my case this was "games"

Does this uses nds bootstrap? So the compatibility is the same as Twloader?
Yes, if you're running games from SD card, this uses nds-bootstrap, so compatibility is the same.

Do you have a "_nds" folder on the SD card's root (not the flashcard's microSD card)?

Thanks for your suggestion. Yes I have. I have tried both the standard DS game forwarder pack (didn't make any sense but I'm trying anything) and the SC DSTWO game forwarder pack. Also I combinded them both with ntr_forwarder.ini from the SC DSTWO game forwarder pack overwriting the on in the DS game forwarder pack.

Got a weird issue. Don't waste your time trying to figure it out unless you know why it happening lol, i'm just curious and don't want to waste anyone's time. I managed to get all my self dumped ds games to work with this perfectly forwarding from my r4 card, no problems there. However, I have two games which I dumped from my Wii U (Mario & Luigi Partners In time) (Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon) that work if I go directly to my r4 to launch them but refuse to work if I use their forwarders. I'm not sure why this is since it should just be launching from my r4 which they already work on. The only thing that I can think of is that the fact that DS games dumped from wii U are .srl and I converted them by changing the extension to .nds but it shouldn't matter since they already work on the r4, only the forwarders cause them to load to a white screen. Maybe the program can't find sufficient information in the roms since they were originally .srl which i hear may be encrypted so that only the official systems can read them, if that's the case I'm guessing I just need to decrypt them before making the fowarders but it's hard to find tutorials that I can follow on how to do that. If anyone knows how to fix this and it isn't too much of a hassle please let me know!

TL;DR: Self dumped ds cart roms work with forwarders. Dumps of NDS VC roms (come out as .srl but i change extension to .nds) from Wii U do not work with forwarders even though the r4 can play them. I think it may have to do with encryption or something but I do not know how to decrypt .srl's.

You can always try simply finding the ROMs for the games that don't work on google and trying with those, less of a hassle and since you already own a legal copy of them anyway it's also legal for "backup purposes":P
