Newer smbwii and New smbwii having both smne and thats the problem

i dont need to patch the games and i have PAL

Do not worry, do not patch with Wii-VMC
SMNE
E, is the region
E = NTSC-U logically

This is not always the case because Project M is a US version but does not need Wii WMC for it to work.

Newer SMBWii & New SMBWii have the same ID (SMNE)

but SMNE and smne in Hex value will not be the same.

Going by your profile flag, I assume your region is EUR/PAL?

If this is the case, it's always best practice to try and use the EUR/PAL versions of the Wii games your trying to inject, reason being is that if a game doesn't have/support PAL video modes, your Wii injects will boot to black screen. It's hard to tell which USA Wii games supports PAL video modes, in my experience of using USA region games for my injects, it's 50/50 success rate, so it's a matter of trial and error.

If you only have access to USA version of a game and it boots to black screen, you next best option is to patch the Video Mode from NTSC to PAL, using the following option:
Advance => TICK the Patch video mode with Wii-VMC.... option before building your inject.

Jumping in on this discussion because I am having the exact same problem as the OP, but only with injecting some Gamecube games (oddly). I am in the EUR/PAL region and I have been getting PAL-GC-iso's from a redump source. Some games boot to a black screen from which I have to hard reset my Wii U and start a wii game before I can try to boot a GC game again. So far this has happened with "Beyond Good & Evil" - "Super Mario Sunshine" - "Luigi's Mansion" - "Sonic Riders"
I have tried:
- removing characters like & and , out of the filename (I've noticed in the past Wup Installers doesn't like them
- "Patch video mode with Wii-VMC." is not available for GC injects
- Simply redownload the iso, rebuild the inject and re-install the game.

As a test, have you tried using the US version instead and see if that boots?

I use mostly USA region games for my GC injects and my console is EUR/PAL. Most USA GC games supports 480p which looks better than the PAL video modes, unless you require the additional languages, then you pretty much need to use EUR/PAL version, if not, just go with USA versions.

If GC games are booting to black screen, try deleting the memcard save files of the game on the SD CARD\saves location, the file name is the first 4 characters of the GAME ID, GameTDB site is a good place to find out the GAME ID's. Also, it's always a good idea to have the latest Nintendont version HERE.

Also are you using the FULL ISO files and not the compressed/shrinked versions?

Hi all, very surprised to see people are still using this horrible tool after all this time. If it hasn't been painfully obvious, I essentially abandoned this project for some time. All the attempted work I put into this was just because there wasn't an existing tool for Wii / GC injects, and I'm very surprised no one has come along and written a better tool. Probably because interest in the Wii U has been so low no one has really cared to.

To clarify a few things:
  1. I will be posting the terrible source code in the OP soon, maybe someone will be motivated enough to run with it
  2. I am not a programmer by any stretch, kinda the main reason this program sucks so much
  3. There have been a plethora of GameCube issues with blackscreen crashing, maybe @FIX94 and I can work on that (Edit: Yo also maybe @ploggy can weigh in). For titles that generate successfully, the nintendont forwarder always loads, but the forwarder very often fails to load nintendont and leaves no logs behind. For example if you leave the SD card out of the system or don't have a config file, you'll see the error messages stating as such every single time, but once you put the SD card in the system it will often fail to load nintendont.
The only reason I'm revisiting this at all is because I got a new Wii U and was re-generating all my titles, all my Wii titles generated without issue but had a hard time loading GameCube titles.

Anyways, have fun continuing to discuss whatever it is you're discussing.

Dear OP, I'm not sure how late I am to this party, but you have done an amazing job. The program is very easy to use & straight forward. I put my 4 favourite GameCube games (MKDD, Luigis Mansion, Mario Strikers, Mario Sunshine) on my Wii U and I just leave the Wii U in the middle of the house (no HDMI connected). Thanks to you I basically have a GameCube Portable. The past few days I have been playing everyday and I am so happy. Would be amazing to see such stuff on Switch, so I can actually take it with me anywhere, but I am very grateful for this epic masterpiece!

Hey TeconMoon, any chance you'll fix some minor bugs (re Wii injection, not GC) in the next (final?) release if we report them?
This tool might be badly coded, but it's seriously of the most important achievement of the Wii U community!

I agree.
Been using this tool quite a bit lately and it delivers the goods just fine as far as I’m concerned.
Using it is a breeze so my thanks also OP for a perfectly decent piece of software.

Anyone can explain me how to inject the Gamecube titles?
I don't have Nintendont on my Wii U but it's running Haxchi, so that should be a starter!

Also, thank you for your program TeconMoon, extremely useful !

Hey, so first off thanks so much for this amazing tool. I've been using it for most of my gamecube games and it's been great! ...with one exception

For whatever reason I can't seem to convert Simpsons: Hit and Run. I've looked everywhere but people don't seem to be having this issue - the game converts fine but the folder is only 7.75MB so it's clearly not the whole game. Just to see what would happen, I tried installing it and my Wii U just froze. Could anyone help me? Or is the game just not compatible? I have the EUR version if that helps at all.

Just converted Simpson H&R USA and it came out with an install dir. size of 1.43Gb.
I dont have EU handy to test.
Haven’t WUP installed it but see no reason that it wouldn’t work.
Perhaps you have a bad source backup?

Can you help me with my question, it's the post right before you and it appears you got it working on your side except for one game.
Do I need to install Nintendont on my vWii ? Or I can just use the built-in option to copy the Nintendont files to my SD card?

As for your game, I would try with a non-PAL version and see if you get the same results.
If you are running patched signatures (Haxchi or Mocha) then playing other regions games should't be an issue.
EDIT: Oops, other guy posted the same solution, try that and see if that works for you :)

Hey, yeah you do - plug in your SD card and with the program go into the 'Nintendont SD Card' menu, make sure your card is selected in the menu that comes up then click on download. Hopefully that helps!

Good to know, thanks - it's probably that then. I'm going to grab a USA copy and i'll report back.

Just tried with two different copies of USA version and they all produce different rips - yet when installed they all produce a corrupted app on the Wii U (shown as '???'). One copy is twice the size of the game at 3GB, the other seems to be the same size as the one you have and the EUR version I had is now working, except it's a few hundred megabytes larger than the game for some reason. Regardless, the game isn't working on any account so i'm going to go ahead and assume the game simply isn't compatible :(

I'd love to know why this isn't working and if there's any chance at fixing it

Seems like you screwed with your setting.
Start with a fresh copy of the injector, if you get the same issue then maybe snoofly could test and see if he can install the game on his Wii U.
I don't have this game so can't try it right now.

Tried with a new copy of the software, same thing. Also downloaded Nintendont and went through that directly and the game booted! Which is good, but I really wanted it on my home screen like all my other games, instead of having to jump through homebrew menus to get the game up and running. So it's definetly the Injector program - the forwarder it creates for games doesn't seem to work with hit and run. Hopefully someone can look into why that is - I wouldn't have the first clue as where to start for that.

Just tried installing Simpsons H/R (WUP-N-GHQE_0005000247485145) to WiiU HDD and it worked fine booting it from the WiiU homescreen icon.
Played until Krusty does the advert on the TV at beginning of game so not sure what else to suggest at this stage.

Was it a rip of your own making or did you obtain it elsewhere? Because i've gone through 2 US copies and the EUR version so idk what's wrong
