ROM hack of: Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon (3DS)

Pokémon Supernova Sun and Penumbra Moon are mods for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Like my Rutile Ruby & Star Sapphire hacks and my Nova Sun & Umbra Moon hacks, their main purpose is to provide a more challenging game experience while not artificially limiting the player. The premier feature of Supernova Sun and Penumbra Moon is the ground-up redesign of Pokémon Trainers in the world to increase the game's challenge. Every trainer in the game has been edited, and the level curve expects use of the Experience Share, which means that the player levels up very quickly. Every Pokémon in Trainers' teams has a a proper moveset and many are holding items. The Elite Four and Champion are Level 100, and the player doesn't need to grind to equal that!

Supernova Sun and Penumbra Moon's secondary focus is inspired by Super Smash Bros. Melee's "20XX Hack Pack" which is designed to improve competitive players' ability to practice and grind. In Supernova Sun and Penumbra Moon's Legit Build, everything obtainable is 100% legal and legitimate for real online battles or trades. In all Builds, some features are designed to make preparing competitive teams much less of a hassle. Competitive hold items are much more available, a 6IV Ditto is available through an in-game trade (holding a Destiny Knot), Eggs hatch in one cycle, and Level 100 Memento Blissey battles are available in the Battle Buffet once the main story has been beaten.

Oh okay thanks for the heads up. I tried the ROM hack and I am very impressed and glad you did this. The game is much more challenging, but not impossible. So far, so good with my Dartrix, though I didn't catch any other Pokemon yet nor I am on the first trial. Just a last question: who I absolutely need to breed competitive Pokemon to continue through with the game and finish or just catching them and play as if it was normal gameplay with be good enough?

Catching and playing is what the game is designed for, not breeding and EV training.

Okay thanks for clearing that up. In my head since, this is a more challenging/competitive experience, I thought I had to get and breed a competitive team in order to make it through to the game.

Thanks so much and happy new year!

The competitive experience is mostly about using good movesets and team-building, and being ready for threats from many angles (stall, type specialists, hyper offense, setup sweepers...)

Oh yeah but I thought I would need to get perfect IV/EVs, natures, etc in the right spots.
I'd recommend EV training for the post game at least. It's perfectly doable without doing that of course, but you're gonna be getting your ass handed to you and relying on items lmao. At least that was my experience with post game Poni Gauntlet back on S/M when I didn't EV train and had terrible natures.

So don't start breeding/competitive making until until after the game is done. Thanks.

Thank you for this awesome rom hack :)

I have a short question: i am using the drag & drop installation and legit build. Do i have to disable the patch over luma to play safely online? And is there any risk to go online with the 6iv ditto on pc box?

I have just finished the RR post game. You had some nice surprises, one of them nearly gave me a heart attack lmao. I have a question about the post game though. Is every trainer updated? Should I go around doing all the optional battles or did you only update the Poni Gauntlet path?

Glad you enjoyed the hack! Every single trainer in the game is edited (I ran a diff between the default and modified lists to ensure this), though some to less of a degree than others: the Eevee Users, for example, still only have one Pokémon each (their signature Eevee). All the post-Champion stuff is leveled to 100 (with EV spreads) and most of the content has new movesets.

Thank you for this awesome rom hack :)

You can play online while the Luma patch is on, but you can also easily disable Game Patching if you're nervous about something or other. There shouldn't be any desyncs or detectable discrepancies. As for hacked pokemon (like the 6IV Ditto), GF has never banned people for having hacked Pokémon due to how easy it is to acquire them through trades. Imagine if Wonder Trading a bunch of hacked Pokémon could allow a troll to get hundreds of innocent kids banned from the game.

I'm going to attempt a randomizer nucklocke. I have randomized the encounters, starters, static encounters just fine. If I randomize the TM's, which GARC do I replace?
(I am NOT randomizing the trainers.)

I believe TMs are in code.bin. Make sure you're using a v1.1 code.bin if you're using Drag and Drop or a v1.0 code.bin if you're using a CIA or 3DS build.
