Hacking A dummy needs simple advice please

I installed custom firmware a while back after first discovering loadiine as i liked the faster load times, online etc but forgot what i originally did..
I was happy on 5.5.1 running a few downloaded games and a few needing mocka, i havent been able to play zelda botw though as it said i needed to update!
i read in an other thread about using nnupatcher, i ran it... obviously wrong and it updated my wii u now when i try and load loadiine/any custom firmware it comes up with an error as i am on 5.5.2e
however my question is i have several games like mario kart that need custom firmware loaded to run so they no longer work, BUT a few games didnt need custom firmware like zelda, splatoon and these still work?
so as mentioned as it was such a long time a go when i installed these i can no longer remember what i did but is it possible to download more games (once i find out the system used) and play these without custom firmware?

If you don't have Haxchi then you can not install any new games at this point since you need to launch WUPInstaller to install the games you download. Any games you've previously installed that don't require CFW will still launch and play fine.

right, so i used wupinstaller, it rings a bell!! to be honest zelda/splatoon are the games i play so atleast i have not lost all!!

just to add a further question, is there a hardmod option? i dont seem to find a lot of info? i did my 3ds old and new so happy with my soldering..

No hard mod option unless you backed up your nand previously. There are no options for you right now
