Yes and no. Yes you can install haxchi on a pirated DS vc. But you cant use the "Brazilian" method as that involves games with both a disc and eshop releases which means you can only run it from cfw, which really if you are already in cfw why use haxchi. And don't even think about installing cbhc on top of that because that is guaranteed brick.

First, you can't use the Brazilian method to install DS games for the reason listed above. Second, you cannot install Haxchi to a pirated DS game. It must be downloaded legitimately from the eShop in order to be signed properly and work. If you installed CBHC to a pirated DS game, that would brick the Wii U.

You can install haxchi, it's only cbhc that won't work and will brick the system. But as I stated above you would need to run the haxchi title from cfw anyway which defeats the purpose.

You're right, but as you said, it would be pointless since you would have to run Mocha CFW before you could run Haxchi CFW.

Just curious, is it a good idea to keep a copy backup of haxchi on the usb just incase one of them somehow corrupt? My system somehow updated to 5.5.1 and since web exploit doesn't work, I don't wanna lose haxchi.

Haxchi must be installed to your NAND. I don't think it matters if you keep Haxchi on your NAND or on your USB. If it were me, I'd keep it on both.

CBHC must be kept on your NAND.

Oh okay, thanks. I don't use CBHC just haxchi. So I was just curious if i could keep a copy. Wasn't sure, since somewhere it said haxchi doesn't run from USB but you cleared that up nicely. :)

To install Haxchi, it must be on your NAND. After it's installed, you might be able to copy it to your USB.

I'm fairly certain haxchi can install to a USB DS vc (I did it before). It's cbhc that can't install too usb
Edit: actually now that I remember it was installed manually via wupserver, not the installer

Your primary Haxchi should consist of a legitimate game. You can technically have multiple haxchi installs afterwards, even through the brazilian method. But the only reason to do that is to create your very own forwarders to homebrew. Like one haxchi being for retroarch, another being for swapdrc, etc. One could argue that you can use one haxchi and just have button shortcuts though.

Overall, stick with a legtimate DS VC game and one haxchi.
