Thought I'd create a poll on this topic since you either did one of these four things. I want to know, however, if you spoofed your Wii U to 5.5.2 the reason why you did it since you can still play online on 5.5.1 (like Splatoon). Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see any redeeming qualities to spoofing if you can still play online and use NNU patcher to access eShop on 5.5.1. If you're on 5.5.2 spoofed, you still need NNU patcher to access the eShop so I don't see the point.

Zero point to go to 5.5.2. For some reason my didn't update and didn't go to 5.5.2, so I ran do my damn console to add DNS protection. Staying on 5.5.1.

The only negative thing I can think of about the 5.5.2 update is that it blocks the browser exploit, so you won't be able to use SDCaffeine for game mods anymore.

I'm staying on 5.5.1. In fact I haven't touched my wii u in a long time, but it's already setup with CBHC and DNS so really I didn't have to do anything and I can just carry on like usual as if the new update never happened.

People make a big deal about the update, when really you don't even have to update. We were already using DNS even before the update came around. So just continue with your day as usual and keep the DNS up like before. Everything works the same, even online play on 5.5.1. So I don't get why people are spoofng.

The 5.5.2 was only released for one purpose, to patch up the browser exploit and not give us any benefits. It's purpose is to create a market where 5.5.2 consoles are more common so that when the Wii U dies out, it won't have exploitable consoles as much. Before, every console was hackable so any Wii U you bought was golden.

I only spoofed my redNAND, so my sysnand is untouched at this point, except forcing the Wii U to be update proof. So to all those that says "you're a fool to spoof" eh, redNAND, and I can easily roll back if I wanted to but, meh don't care.
As for the reason, just wanted to see if it was possible as a lot of people were having trouble doing it.

I just spoofed, no reason why not! its exactly the same as being on 551 hacking wise but you also get the new benefits of the v552 update. The wiiu also seems a tad faster loading into the menus on 552, it does seem more stable I'm sure of it! I'm glad I did.

I updated to 5.5.2 because I didn't feel like doing anything special to update my games. I'd rather just update them the normal legal way since it downloads a smaller file.
I literally haven't used browserhax since I first got my Wii U and installed haxchi, so it's not worth it to update games over USB or run NNU patcher when I could just have them update automatically.
And to @MattKimura , you don't need browserhax for SDCaffine. I use the homebrew version with haxchi hotkeyed to my X button for Sm4sh mods.

Miiverse, Eshop and menus are loading faster.
I think who has haxchi installed 5.5.2 is worth.

Thanks I was hoping it wasn't just me going a bit crazy. Soon as I spoofed it to v552 and rebooted the wiiu I'm sure it felt faster going into the main menu and other menus for example like System Settings. I noticed it straight away, you just get a feel for these changes when you have booted your wiiu up so many times in the past!

Yep, first thing i tested was miiverse and Eshop and now on 5.5.2 loading faster is noticiable.
