I've recently installed a .cia of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia JPN but I doubt that's the problem.

Not banned. Wonder if people have their settings to share information with Nintendo. Under System Settings -> Internet Settings -> SpotPass -> Sending of System Information. It's defaulted to YES.

I have that checked in Echoes I think.

Hm. This is definitely something we should know.

If you allow your friends to see what game you are playing it also shows them if you are using any hacked app as well. I could see this having something to do with it. Also if you allow your 3ds to send info to Nintendo I could see that being a culprit also.

Well all we can do for now is:
-Try to get banned by checking over and over again or..
-Just wait and see IF we all do get banned or it was just a banwave.
In the end, we can't do much else, other than try and figure out what's the cause of the ban.

Huh... it's only games that are blocked for me going online. Everything else I tried works fine. How very strange.

Alright. I need everyone banned to DM me.

I addition, some facts about the ban.

It is not caused by Fire Emblem Echoes.
Most bans seem to be coming from US.
Both a9lh users and b9s users are receiving bans.
Banned users can access eShop, Miiverse, and Friends List. Go into a game to check your status.

My banned one is set to no. It has been since installing A9LH on it in October of last year.

Banned users can go to eshop, not Friends List, it's 002-0102, someone needs to put this on the OP, and apparently repeat it every 5 posts or something.

I have this set to no and I always set it to no for any game I use.

I'm not banned.

I use Freeshop, have played Fire Emblem Echos (both JP and US versions), with US DLC, change themes, played Moon before release (did not go online though), and I use NTR cheats. So yeah.
Oh and it's B9S.

Im gathering information on a facebook group... and there is no pattern other than everyone banned had arm9 or boot9. I asked for last game played online, if they used cias or oficial carts, if they had a NNID, if they used the freeshop...

It's possible, like some others have said, that the banning is still happening and it's going through a list. I shut my 3DS down for now but I don't know that would make any difference.

Everything right now points to Nintendo being able to detect people using CFWs (or a fatass bug false banning people?). Then again, if my N3DS XL is banned, so be it. I never play online with it anyway.

Not true unless they have a streetpass of you using said app. Or if they own the app maybe, that I don't know.
