With the latest entry to the Fire Emblem series, Fortune's Weave, set to launch in September, Nintendo have today announced a new Nintendo Direct to put it soundly in the spotlight. Featuring 20 minutes of new information about the game, it'll hopefully get people suitably excited for the upcoming release.

The Direct is set to go live at 3pm tomorrow, and will be available via the usual channels. If you're wanting a direct link, you can find the UK stream linked above, and the US stream linked as the source below.

Umm.... hi.... not a fire emblem fan here.

So after watching this video, I noticed some interesting things done in this game that I would say was perhaps feels more interesting since I even known what a fire emblem game was like for awhile. But first off.

I dislike the stories in fire emblem games. From what I read or seen (& little I played), I think they don't compare to something like sega's SHINING FORCE series. Where in those games, evil monsters want to resurrect some bad overlord & reign darkness upon your world. Where in fire emblem games it mostly focuses on bad people doing bad things that leads to war among nations, political struggles, & uncovering conspiracy... with monsters thrown in. Basically, fire emblem focuses too much on people instead of the monsters in a fantasy themed story while shining force focuses on heroes fighting evil forces who are all monsters. Sure Fire emblem has monsters to contend with, but it's not as prominent as the people you deal with through out the stories or games. Meanwhile, shining force is all about monsters & evil forces. Reading all that text about motives and how their bad actions are justified doesn't make the stories more appealing to me.:ninja:

Now to say this. I DO like Fire Emblem Warriors! While is not a game that plays like the traditional series, it's still a game with a story that doesn't bore me because it's short and simple. Not feeling soap opera-ish or grandiose. It also has gameplay that doesn't spend most of my time managing units. Most of the appeal is being able to pick in choose the popular fire emblem characters because it's an all star game. Just like Hyrule warriors. But then the worst happen. Instead of them making sequels that continue the stories of hyrule warriors & fire emblem warriors, because breath of the wild, tears of the kingdom, & three houses ending up being a huge deal. They instead made the stories related to those games. So now the whole "All-star cast" and original stories are sacrificed for expanding the stories of those best selling games. Just like how wario ware became more popular than wario land. :(

I think I had tool much to say about fire emblem than I thought so I just made sections of them since it's not directly related to the trailer. Now about the trailer, I noticed something interesting that I think has been missing for long time, that is the "Super arts" Like in Fire Emblem Warriors. It said using them will consumer more weapon durability than normal, but will probably be more satisfying than getting lucky with critical hits. I also noticed more... mounted animals? No longer stuck with horses, flying horses and wyverns. Not sure how much impact this will have but it might be interesting too.

But to end, I'm worried that the story won't expect me to be anymore entertained compared to the other ones in the series. Having four main characters to switch between sounds like a lot. I do know since the gameboy advance games, that having multiple main characters isn't new, but it was only two in those games. Then the three houses and now four you get to swap between? Is one cohesive party too boring for the plot or the fans now? I don't know, again, not a fan, just an observer.
i have seen this post and i approve!

Eh, normally I love Greco-Roman stuff, but it just doesn't feel right in Fire Emblem. Maybe I'm just burned out from Engage.
