Emulation BotW freezes at begining scene when light flashes

hey all!

im using cemu 1.7.5 and im have a gtx1040 6gb, and amd+ 4300 3.8 quadcore 8gb ddr3 system. i have Botw updated and dlcs installed. even without the update and the dlcs, i couldnt get past the same scene. which is when the game starts, you hit A. the screen has a ball of light that comes on the screen, and says "open your eyes" when the light grows and consumes the entire screen. my FPS drop, and it never advances from that screen.

can any one help? thanks in advance

That freeze is caused by either having the 1.2.0 (v80) update to botw, or by editing version.txt to get past the system update message.

i did change the version.txt. so what should i do to correct it? change it back to 0.9.0 ? then it wouldnt work anyway though right?

Yes you should change it back to 0.9.0. Then you will get the system update message. Then download any update version available except for v80(1.2.0) and put the three folders: code, content, and meta, In the mlc01 folder pointed to by log.txt

thanks alot my man. im going to go ahead and do that. i already have the update and dlc folders. everytime i installed them in the proper folders, the game would load all the way up on the loading screen, but not actually load the game where i can play. would that be from the mess up of the version text and the update and dlc? im asking now, because ive seena few threads where ppl faced the same issue, and wanted to know if i could go back and help them, as you are me. again, thanks in advance

i just saw something that said some ppl just cant play 1.2.0 until cemu devs come up with a proper fix or the 1.7.6. how can i obtain 1.1.1 or pretty much as muich of the updated botw and DLCs as possible. right now when i play the base game, my fps stay around 15 to 20 fps. i really want to get it to 30. ive changed my graphics card settings in the control panel, used cheat engine (which the speedhack is stupid to use) if i can even play the base game, with no DLCs at 30 fps, id be 100% ok with just that. i reallu just want to play a smooth game. dlcs can wait til 1.7.6 lol

Yes this crash is always due to someone either editing version.txt to get around the system update message or having the latest v80(1.2.0). Editing version.txt was a method for people to get the pre release version of the game to work. Before the required day 1 update was available. Now that the game is actually out it is a method that should never be used. v80 just doesn't work in cemu yet.

Such requests are forbidden here. You can check the version you are running on the title screen. Lower right. You can check the dlc you have by looking at, not editing, version.txt in the updates content/system/ folder.

I think just about everything you asked in here is already answered above. But to be clear the base game with no updates can not be played in cemu. It has the message to update your system. So you need an update. Any update except for the latest will work. Your specs aren't good enough for 30fps though. My specs aren't either I only hit 30fps sometimes running around out in the open. Most of the time i'm around 24fps. The only people getting 30fps the majority of the time have haswell skylake or kabylake quad cores running at greater than 4ghz oc. And that is still with the skip fence hack.

i really appreciate everything you've given me here brother. but, i've been playing, and using the original base game, using the version.txt change, and its worked. but i went and used usb helper, since it allows me to see and choose which version i download. i apology for the forbidden request, i wont ask for such things again. again, youve been a great help, and im going to try and make these changes, and see how it goes. as far as the 30 fps, that sucks to hear lol. altho its completely playable and enjoyable as it plays now, the fresh 30fps i get running around in shrines makes me want it all the time haha. i havent checked into it, but cant i overclock my cpu as well? to 4.2ghz? would that allow me the 30fps or maybe mid high 20s?

i have it up and running on the 1.1.2, with the dlc. thanks again from your help. i get about 17 to 22fps. it runs really well with little to no lags. im going to look into over clocking both my gpu, and my processor.

Glad you're all up and running. You should OC the processor if your board and cooler can handle it. Don't bother with OCing the GPU, at least not for cemu. Cemu barely uses the GPU.

if my board and cpu can handle it huh? hmm over clocking of course produces more heat, but is it that much more? i saw ppl went as far as to get a full ghz more out of the amd fx 4300, and get it to 4.8ghz, from its original 3.8. i wouldnt push it so hard, maybe i wouldnt have to upgrade my cooling system at all. haha wrong thread for this. im going to do some research, and see what i can come up with, as far as OCing my cpu. glad you told me about the gpu, so i dont waste any of my time. but my last question to you would be, what do you think the processor would have to push to get 30 fps, or close to? your educated guess.
