What's up Tempers? I've been thinking recently about getting a PS Vita. I've got a Launch 3DS already, with A9LH+Luma, but I still haven't managed to get a Vita. I want to know if I should get a Vita or a N3ds, but I dunno where to start, really. someone help me out here. just consider the following in your decision:
*Homebrew potential
*Emulation potential
*Games/Lack thereof
*System UI
*Online Capabilities
*System Performance
*CFW Potential

And.... GO!

I would say to get a New 3ds XL. I have one and I couldn't imagine not having it and still using my launch day 3ds. If you're happy with your 3ds and don't NEED the upgrade, I would get a PS Vita Phat. My dad has one and I like the buttons on it. The Slim doesn't look very nice to me.

Voted Vita, only because you have a 3DS already. Check out Chary's Vita Highlight Reel for games to make the system worthwhile. I recommend Persona 4, Tales of Hearts R, Tales of Innocence R, Ys: Memories of Celceta, and my favorite, ODIN SPHERE LEIFTHRASIR!

Oh, and I recommend the OLED of the phat any day.

Vita = stuck on 3.60 for the forseeable future, so locked out of newer games indefinitely. Cfw is a soft install (if u power off, u have to reinstall). Mostly weeb games and action games.

N3ds has installed cfw and you can be on latest firmware. Huge library of games.

Vita: native psp/psx emulator and has potential to run emulators that require more power.

N3ds: can pretty much run all retro systems, some as virtual console injections which are very stable. (including snes on n3ds)

You could say vita is potentially better, but nobody knows if that potential will ever bear fruit.

My opinion, buy a pstv (which pretty much does the same thing except portability) for cheap and you can also get a n3ds.

It depends on what type of games you like. Both are very good.

Edit: ho. I didn't read that you already have 3ds. in this case ps vita of course.

I recommend a PSTV ! its not a Vita but you can play Vita games plus you can use a USB device as storage so that you don't have to buy those overpriced memory cards.
Most games work with Whitelisting and the slowdown in most games is not half as bad.

I am much more happy with my PSTV than I ever was with my 3ds (even though it is a nice system as well) but if you really have a 3ds already it doesn't make any sense at all to get another one.

But than again it depends on what kind of Games you want.
I loved both Digimon Games for Vita and played them both for some time, Ragnarok seems nice too plus you have these danganronpa (or however they are called) games and lots of J-RPGs and even shooter and racing and everything.
Actually I was very surprised to see how big the game library for the VITA actually is.

I would not recommend Vita Phat or Slim as they are either on firmware above 3.6 or just insanely expensive while you could buy a PSTV (new!) with firmware below 3.6 for less than 50 bucks plus you don't need a memory card which is even more expensive and you have a nice big screen (if you have a big tv) and most games still look good (at least on my 42" screen)

I didn't include the PSTV because I don't own a television. I know, it's strange. if I could connect it via VGA to my desktop though, that would be a different story.
EDIT: someone give me some info on the PSTV like I've been living under a rock since before the PS4 came out, okay? thanks. I know literally nothing about it. Does it play physical games? Internet 100% Required? DO I Have to use a PS4 controller, or can I use a USB Controller, like an Afterglow for PS3?

It can play physical games but it can only play supported titles that have been made compatible with the PSTV but I believe there's a workaround for that so that you can play the Vita's whole library. Internet is not necessarily required all the time. You can use either a DualShock 3 or 4, not sure if other controller will work

I purchased a PSTV and PSVita last year and I am very happy about it.

I am big fan of RPG and so I can play Vita/PSP/PSOne rpg's on it along with emulators since they are on 3.60

But in reality, I do not have time so I don't even play with it lol

Pstv does only have HDMI no VGA

Now that vita is hacked you can use a whitelist to make every game playable but some do have slowdowns as the hardware is not as strong as the vita.

You can play PSP games and there are a few emulators as far as I know.

Problem is that the firmware needs to be 3.6 or below ... New ones are all below but if you buy it used there is a chance it is updated and therefore useless if you wand to use hack

64gb memory for vita is ~100€ while on the pstv (if you use the hack) you could use any USB stick or external hdd

Get both if you can afford.

PSVita for PSX and Vita via homebrew

Unless you REALLY love the 3DS, and want to have a bigger screen and stuff, and know that you would get a lot of enjoyment out of that new 3DS... go for the Vita.
It gives you more games to play, games that aren't available on the 3DS.

A new 3DS would improve your 3DS experience, a vita would improve your overall handheld (unless vita TV) experience with the increase of titles to play.

Ultimately it's your call.
