Hacking Can the Wii U run 3 partitions on a single harddrive?

I want to put 3 partitions on my harddrive.
Downloaded Wii U games and backups (eShop and WUP installed games)
Wii backups (WBFS backups)
and GameCube backups (.iso backups)

Does the Wii U allow all of these partitions to be ran?

Very common question that I've seen at least a dozen times... NO!

There's currently no released method of adding a second partition to a Wii U hard drive. This could happen in the future, but don't hold your breath. In the mean time, learn to use the search function...

Short answer is no.

I am not informed enough to give you the long answer explaining exactly why it's not possible at this moment, but for now we cannot do that.

Sadly, you can't partition your hard drive for using with a Wii U.

The format the Wii U makes to the drive erases the whole partition table and creates a new one, no matter what number of partitions you have created.

With reverse engineering and time, some hackers could patch with a FW image or a homebrew so that you could have a partitioned hard disk drive without the Wii U complaining about it.

But that's very far from now. And I don't think there's a lot of people interested in researching that right now due to the current situation of the console. With the Switch out in the wild and all that.

I think a solution could be to get a second hand hard disk drive from a laptop, then buy a USB enabled enclosure for it. You'll be fine with a 320GB HDD, no need for a bigger one.

I would go with the "unplug and plug when needed" option.

However, there's an app for PC that let's you "hide" your NTFS or FAT32 drive from the Wii U. But it makes the HDD not recognizable for some homebrew apps, and while most loaders are compatible with it, I didn't like that sometimes my drive was not found at all in different PCs I have.

With it, you cuould have both drives connected to the Wii U all time, without the Wii U complaining about it, since one would be "hidden" from it.
