@JK_ Had a weird thing happen. I'm using 2-10-2017 version. It seems like the clock in JKSM got stuck and when I clicked on New under Export, it just overwrote the save data. I wouldn't even have noticed if I wasn't making backups every few minutes for hacking. It did the same thing even after I exited out of the app using B repeatedly and restarting it. It stopped doing it after playing a game.

i want to transfer my animal crossing new leaf save data, can you please tell me step by step how to do?

By transfer you mean export your save?

Load JKsavemanager go to where your game is installed if it's a cia or cartridge if you're using a cartridge and select "export save" and choose a folder so that you will have a sav. file of your game save data.
Once you are done doing whatever you want with it you can inject it back to your game by doing the same thing except this time you will choose "import save" and make sure you select the correct save to "place back" in your game.

Hope that helps

[Apologies if this has been posted, a search yielded nothing helpful and I am not reading 148 pages]

I'm relatively new to all this. How do I install this save manager on my system WITHOUT CFW?
I got the impression you don't need custom firmware to use it. I'm here because I was directed to it from this page https://gbatemp.net/threads/apm-mhx-mhgen-save-editor.434421/ where it says the following:
"Instructions:
1. Use your favorite save manager (SaveDataFiler or JK Save Manager (No CFW Required) or anything that can extract extdata) to extract the system file from the extdata (00001870)"
see it says there that CFW is not required. Just to show I'm not making a weird assumption.

But there seems to be no instructions on how to install anywhere on this page, nor in the downloadable files. and a google search to look for how to install this file only yielded results telling me to get custom firmware.
I am really not interested in custom firmware at this time. Sometime in the future I'd like to get a N3DS and install custom firmware on that but this console, which was gifted to me by a close friend and been with me for years, this console which I've given a NAME to, I really don't want to mess with too much.
I just really wanna cheat on some games xD

So any assistance on how to get this working with no CFW would earn my undying gratitude. thanks in advance.

You should just get CFW on it unless you're on 11.3.0-36X, then you can't even if you wanted to. I've done a dozen and most of them Limited Edition ones. No issues with any of them. Unless you're an idiot, can't follow simple directions, or the Universe/God hates you, CFW is the way to go. Just follow the Guide. Nintendo will start shipping consoles with 11.3.0-36X soon and those won't be hackable in the near future.

If you really don't want to get CFW, get the starter pack from smea, get soundhax from Ned, and get JKSM. Put it all on your SD card. Launch soundhax, launch JKSM, then export save. Copy save to computer, hack save, then copy it back to SD card. Launch soundhax again, JKSM, then import save.

according to my system, I have 11.3.0-36e. I normally just get system updates when I have to. But i'll try to keep an eye out of one with that number appears.
unless that counts as the same version

Yes. X stands for E, U, K, J, etc. You need to be on 11.2.0-35X or less to get CFW currently.
thanks, i'm trying to look in to the other things you mentioned, though the first one seems to be the same sort of thing; homebrew and cfw stuff that my version is now too high for

EDIT: Ah wait, the page for the second one linked me to the "starter kit"'s correct page. I guess google just took me to the wrong place.

good rule of thumb: if you want to get into modding on any system, do not system update without knowing what it changes.
yeah, that is indeed a good rule of thumb. ever time I've gone to look into stuff like this it always turns out that I just got a system update that broke it. i don't remember how many times it's been now but i remember when it first happened back on PSPs when i tried to use action replay with it and it had JUST been updated past it lol.
You'd think i'd learn. but then i never really planned to be doing all this. I just wanted to use cheats on MHgen and didn't realise until a couple weeks ago that it doesn't work on AR Powersaves any more.

if thats the case, I just recommend not doing it unless absolutely necessary.
