Hacking Is arm9 region free or do I need to install something else?

I ran through the whole installation schpiel and everything is all set. I have freeshop. Can I just use any region game from there, or do I need some sort of region free mod?

Arm9loaderhax is an exploit that allow anything to run before the console boot.
CFW that load from Arm9loaderhax is the one that allow region free.

That's pretty much it. Sometimes you have to set the game's locale with Luma Locale Switcher, but that's semi-rare.

I don't follow. I installed freeshop from arm9 yes, so that means whatever I download from there thats USA should be okay to run even though my console is Jp?

Yup, Since Luma3DS allow region free.

Yep. If you followed that guide, you should have Luma3DS already.

Fuck. I spent all that time downloading bravely second USA And it said: wrong title key. wtf? I specifically got two different title key collection bins that were apparently up to date and correct. what happened?

Did you download it with freeShop? You may just need to delete your caches

I refreshed cache, put them proper qr code link, and deleted the dec and enc bins I had put in the freeshop folder before. hoping it works now

Yeah you shouldn't have put a dectitlekeys.bin file in there, that was probably why it failed to download, it was probably trying to get the key from there instead of enctitlekeys.bin

just a quick question guys to clarify things, say i got an extra 3DS with Luma+a9lh and i decided to change the region to Japanese, but i already accessed Australian eshop with it, can i just format it in system settings, reinstall FBI and Luma updater then proceed to region changing etc can i now access Japan's Eshop? because it says in the guide that the 3DS must not have accessed eshop before else you will be unable to access eshop on the different region..

The guide is correct, it's too late.
Though you can still use freeShop and CIAngel so it's not a big deal nowadays.

i see, so it does not matter even if i reformat it as long as it has previously accessed eshop before right? so it is too late..anyway, yeah i got freeshop so it's fine..thanks for the response..

Was there something you were really wanting from the Japanese eShop? If it's a game update, I could probably get it for you.

i got a few legit japanese backups and thinking of putting all of it into a "japanese" 3DS for uniformity..but for the game updates, not at the moment.. but i'll keep that in mind in the future, many many thanks..
