Now that this is out and fixed, how should I go about updating to 11.1? Do I update in SysNAND, or in Gateway Mode? I have A9LH and Luma installed on my N3DS. I have not updated before with A9LH/Luma. Also, do I need to update Luma as well? Thoughts/help appreciated :)

Don't update in Gateway mode, it could brick. Update when you're in Luma.

How do I know if I am in Luma? Sorry, am new to this...
Well do you have to hold a key to boot into Gateway? Don't hold that key.

You can be sure by holding Select to get Luma options to come up, then pressing Start to reboot. Also, the version string in Settings will say "sys" instead of "GW3D".

Thanks for help! Can I still use my SC DSTwo in 11.1? Also, do I need the 3.7, or 4.2 launcher?

I am confused... If I update, does GW mode get updated also? I am wanting to play the newer games that are coming out, especially Pokemon Sun/Moon...

Even if most people like having both Luma and Gateway mode on the same sysNAND partition (like I do), it is very importat to NOT update when in Gateway mode. ONLY update in Luma3ds mode, otherwise you could brick your 3DS. And YES when you update in Luma3ds mode it will apply to the Gateway 3DS mode aswell without any chances of bricking the system.

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare

@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
