Hi. I have converted my Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask cartridge into a CIA. When I play from the original cartridge, it says "Ver 1.1" in the bottom-right corner. It said that as soon as I inserted the cartridge, without me having to install any update from eShop (and indeed, I have no "Add-on data" for that game), so v1.1 is "burnt" into the original cartridge.
After converting it to CIA (which I did using Decrypt9WIP and installed using FBI, onto the same console, with is an o3DS XL running A9LH/sysnand 11/Luma), when I select the icon, I see a message "Software notification - connect to the internet and touch Open to start updating". If I start the game without updating, it still says it's v1.1. If I do the update (which puts stuff into Add-on data), it still says it's v1.1.
My questions are: Why does converting the cartridge version to a CIA and installing it seem to act different (requesting an update) to the original cartridge? Did I convert it wrongly? Does this happen with any other games? Should I or should I not install the update? I have done so because it gets rid of the annoying prompt, but I don't know how that affects the game. Is it possible to remove that prompt without updating?
