2DS Suggested Price Drops to $79.99

For all of you late adopters to the 3DS family - hold on just a little bit longer! Come May 20th, 2016 the suggested retail price of Nintendo's increasingly affordable 2DS system drops $20 - from $99.99 to just $79.99.

In addition, some systems will even come installed with Mario Kart 7, arguably one of the console's biggest "must have" game.

That $20 savings can then be reinvested in, you guessed it, more games! 'Nintendo Selects' Reprints of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, Yoshi's New Island, Mario Party: Island Tour, and more can be bought for $19.99.

As many will point out, the 2DS does not allow you to play games in 3D, but aside from a few NEW 3DS exclusives, it plays all of the same games that the regular 3DS can. For those with children, those who don't care about 3D, and just overall cost efficient consumers; May 20th is the best time to jump on board the handheld hype train!

Still amazed this sells. It looks like a cheap toy to me.

But an amazing console is an amazing console I guess. :yay3ds:
It feels like an old Game Boy when I hold it, so I have one for my Virtual Console.

Its

Its meant for kids, ones not old enough to view 3D, and break things with hinges.
Not meant to look cool, since children don't really care.

I'm not a kid and cash flow isn't a problem and still I opted for a 2DS :) now you.

Too bad they don't make a "New" version of these, as powerful as the New 3DS, but can't use 3D. I'm not in the mood to spent 150$+ on another N3DS.
I would totally buy a "New 2DS"!
Nintendo, please make it happen.
Thing is, "New" systems are mainly geared towards advanced older users (Xenoblade and Binding of Issac aren't exactly games kids would enjoy, and SNES games cater more for nostalgia from people who played it when they were younger)
2DS is geared towards kids and younger users - lack of 3D, different shaping ala a tablet, lower price point for parents, etc.

There's no realistic reason for them to combine an advanced version of a system and a dummied down version of the system.

...Why the hell is Binding of Issac not playable on Old3DS?

I bought an used 2DS because it was cheap. $180, charger, two games, and a case. Was thinking of gifting it to my gf although, because apparently no one wants an used 2DS.

More price drops would work too...
