what do you mean by use them? install them? on which nand

download the FIRMS.7z from the AuReiNAND github page and grab Firmware90.bin from the A9LH folder in the 7z then put that in the Aurei folder with where firmware.bin is at.

set SysNAND to boot (check updated sysnand mode and use 9.0 Firm as default use in AuReiNAND via holding select on bootup). (the 3ds will now boot to SysNAND 9.2 by default to work with Gateway)

after you do this, place LAUNCHER.DAT on the root of your SD Card from "GW-ULTRA-3-7-1-BETA.zip" on the Gateway website.

the lase step is to follow the steps in this zip https://gbatemp.net/attachments/gateway-cia-v1-1-7z.42248/
---------------------
afterward, launching Gateway is as easy as putting the cart in, turning on the 3DS power, then launching the Gateway CIA from the home menu.
The Gateway Launcher should take over and boot into EmuNAND.

So there's no way to autoboot... i really shouldn't have installed a9lh.

why, it is great that you did. Gateway will be releasing a A9LH version soon and you are all set to use it, then Autoboot will be a reality for you.

the above steps are a way to run Gateway for now until the A9LH version is released. once it is released, you will immediately take back these words " i really shouldn't have installed a9lh.".

autoboot what? emunand? you can do that. with aureinand, just don't use "updated sysnand".
no, autoboot gateway mode.

even when they do release it, i will have to hold down buttons when turning on my 3ds

this is if you load the payload with AuReiNAND. Gateway will most likely release a "arm9loaderhax.bin, which is autobooted by A9LH and skip holding buttons or AuReiNAND alltogether.

It isn't working because fucking A9LH updated my sysnand to 10.7. There is no 10.7 payload.

A9LH cannot update the 3DS, you followed the guide past the point of installing A9LH on sysNAND 9.2, which is where you needed to stop to run Gateway at the moment. since you updated SysNAND, you will need to wait for Gateway's A9LH payload to be released.

once Gateway has an A9LH payload, all they will need to do for now on is to make a new arm9loaderhax.bin whenever the system menu is updated and the multirom menu breaks and all you will need to do is copy it to the root of your SD Card.

I do not mean to sound rude but this is the reality of the situation right now.

This is exactly why I haven't touched A9LH yet. My CN method has worked fine for me so far, and once GW releases their A9LH stuff and I know what it entails, then I'll go down that road. No sense fixing what isn't broken.

If you follow the guide to at least get the OTP, you will be fine and it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to get it now where you can go to 10.7 via recovery update if the SysNAND steps result in a partial downgrade. once 10.8 comes out, you may have to try to get it in one try or be stuck on 10.8

You are not required to install A9LH after you dumped the OTP. keep it for later when you want to install it once the Gateway A9LH payload comes out.
@DarkFlare69 made 2 mistakes that took him down this road (but at least he is ready to go with the OTP and A9LH for when Gateway's comes out)

1. Not stopping the guide after A9LH was installed to SysNAND 9.2 (this would have allowed boot into A9LH with Gateway support on EmuNAND via firmware90.bin and the Gateway HB launcher mod)
2. Not waiting for Gateway's A9LH payload before installing A9LH. Dumping the OTP was the right thing to do (I seem to have trouble convincing him that he did the right thing doing this because of the spot he is in)

Gateway cannot stop Nintendo from releasing 10.8 and removing the safety net people have with the 9.2 downgrade and the 2.1 downgrade for the people like me who got the OTP using SysNAND downgrading only (with no hardmod)

I followed the guide. How was I sopposed to know to stop? No one has ever mentioned that and it says nowhere in the guide to stop.

Can I restore my pre-A9LH NAND in Decrypt9 but keep A9LH? It says "NAND Restore (keep a9lh)" or will this mess even more up?

My sysNAND is 9.0 right now, so it shouldn't matter when they release 10.8 right? Unless I need to update my emuNAND before flashing to sysNAND for the downgrade part. I haven't looked far into the guide yet, but I imagine when I re-create emuNAND with emuNAND9, it will be on 9.0 and I can downgrade from there. before flashing back to sysNAND.

I'm pretty sure that will work since it's in the latest release. if you prefer to, you can restore the entire dump and install arm9loaderhax again without using your emunand dump.

I don't want to reinstall it, loading Gateway from the home menu is good enough for me until they release their arm9loaderhax.bin to autoboot gw mode.

"pretty sure" is good enough for me, I'm restoring it right now

did the restore work out?
If it did, keep your otp.bin safe for when thr A9LH gateway release comes out so you can install it then and have autoboot without all the hassles.

Can't believe I got an April Fools version of Decrypt9. That made me laugh

Everything seems to be working fine now. Thanks to all of you for helping

But I still have a few questions:
1. Decrypt9 now loads with L+R on boot, but "0x1B KeyX: not found --- Initialization partly failed" is shown on its startup. But it seems to be working. Is this ok or am I missing something here?
2. What happens to an updated sysNand if 10.8 comes out? Would it be safe to update to it?
3. Can Nintendo ever patch A9LH?

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
